I walked down the corridors, smiling softly. I haven't felt this good in so long. How could the person who has hurt me so bad, cause me such happiness?
I bit my lip as I rounded a corner, stopping when I saw the group of guys who had tormented me for years. My smile faltered as Mitch began to walk towards me, a sick smirk upon his face. I was shoved against the wall, his face in front of mine. I felt my back pushing hard into the brick walls, chomping down on my lip to conceal the pain and screams that wanted to leave.
A hard punch found itself to my stomach, causing me to gasp out. I felt my body collapse to the ground as he let my body fall. I coughed harshly, trying to catch any source of air. Mitch bent down so that his mouth was inches from my ear. "Vikk set you up, last night. We were there." He whispered. My eyes widened. "You actually trusted him? How pathetic could you be?"
Kicks after punches after smacks. I can't remember none of it, I only remember what Mitch told me. Vikk tricked me. I had..trusted him. I pushed myself up off of the ground, glancing up at the group laughing down at me. Tears were indescribable at this point.
I shook my head as my lip quivered. I wasted no time in standing and bolting down the hallways. I heard footsteps behind mine, meaning they were following. I tried to silence my sobs as I shoved out of the front doors. I began a dead run down the sidewalks. I still heard footsteps. Couldn't they just leave?
I saw my house in view and ran up the driveway. Now just to make it to the door, and I will be safe. Of course the world hated me as I found myself falling to the ground. I whined as I slid to my knees, looking up and seeing Vikk by himself. I looked away, shame and regret rising within me. "Lachlan, I'm so-" I shook my head as I began to cry. Why was I so weak? "Just leave me. Don't be surprised if I don't come back." I whispered with a very broken voice.
I managed to stand and began to slowly walk to the front door. "Please, let me explain!" I turned. My will to live was absent as I locked eyes with his. "I don't even think I could trust you." I muttered, wiping my eyes. "You don't understand! They saw it all! They threatened to beat me if I stopped them. I'm sorry! Please!" I froze. This could be just another sick lie. This could be just a joke. The others could be nearby ready to pounce and beat me unconscious.
I shook my head, feeling tears spring down my cheeks. "I'm sorry." I whispered as I entered my home and closed the door. With the door closed, I broke. I shattered right there. I collapsed to the ground, feeling no where near the same. I laid my back against the door and let my head rest upon it as I stared at the ceiling.
What is the point of life when I have no one? I am alone. I have no help, no love, no comfort. I'm just a lone flower in a patch of thorn bushes. I'm so delicate, yet with every insult I wither more. I falter until I am no more. My facades become so weak and puny, that anyone could see through them. The light I once felt to cure my heart is now gone. It gave in to darkness and sorrow. I am no more. I'm just an empty shell ready to be thrown out.
I bit viciously into my lip as I heard a ringing from the kitchen. I scamperd to my feet and ran into the room. I picked the phone up and held it to my ear, "Hello, we are calling in regards for Lachlan. He has skipped recently and has insulted a teacher. He will be suspended for the rest of the week." I clenched my teeth and slammed the phone back into its hanger.
I rubbed my head and rushed up the stairs to my room. With yet another slam of a door, I smashed my fist into the wall, leaving a large hole. I cried out, leaning my head forwards on the wall, my hands placed flat at the sides of my head.
I was trembling, my breathing ragged, my heart vanishing, and stomach twisting. Who am I anymore?
I whimpered as I opened my eyes to blurry vision; blinded by tears. I trudged into the bathroom and began to carelessly sling drawers open. With a reckless hand, my fingers grazed over the metal friend I had trusted my life with. It was all I had left. It was the only family I had to see. It helped me control my pain, it made me feel fulfilled. The pain in my heart is unbearable, but using this is the only way to control that pain I experience.
I held the object before me, seeing the light above glisten brightly on the metal. I ran a shaky finger across its thin surface, sobbing even louder. Uncontrollably, I began dragging the blade across the thin skin upon my wrists. Blood seeped through the fresh marks, making scarlet lines as they fell to pools on the counter top.
Cut after cut. I was relentless. I kept up the charade, crying harder then I ever have. I was sobbing and gasping for air. I was breaking heavier than I ever have. "Twelve for believing Vikk had changed." I whispered in a barely audible tone that was raspy and hoarse to no end. "Thirteen for being me. Fourteen for being ali-"
I collapsed to the ground, my vision darker then I had ever seen. The room was spinning, shaking with every breath. My heart was pounding against my chest, and my head was throbbing. With a sharp inhale, it became harder to see. Everything was disappearing. Everything was vanishing. Darkness was greeting me with a cold welcome, leaving me to stand in an abyss of nightmares.
Your cold eyes are haunting. I don't know if I could trust what you say. You let me down too many times before..I'm so scared to trust you now. I'm so broken, I don't want to be completely numb. You will do that to me if you leave me to fend for myself.
