Hana did not like this at all.
It was almost funny.
"Hana, give me my phone back--!" You chased the younger girl around the house, her laughter irritating you. As soon as you got home that day Kento asked you out, you told your sisters the news, but you didn't expect them to commit such an act hours later after meticulous planning.
Ada giggled as she watched, clapping her hands. "Go, Hana, go! Run, run, run!"
"This isn't funny!" You sighed exasperatedly, panting. Reluctantly, you stopped, leaning against the kitchen doorframe for a breather.
"Rosie's tired."
Hana peeked from behind the living room couch, an annoying grin plastering across her face. "Aw, are you gonna give up? I should delete his number--!"
"Hana!"
When you finally snatched your phone back, you checked to make sure his number was still intact, and to your relief, it was.
"Rosie's got a boyfriend! Rosie's got a boyfriend!"
"Ada! Stop that!" You shushed her, huffing. You ran your fingers through your hair, unable to resist the small smile that curved up your lips at the sight of a message.
Did you get home safe?
"Hm? Ada, you shouldn't be shouting like that and embarrass your older sister." Your father buttoned up his suit as he came down the stairs slowly. His fingers fumbled clumsily, finally hooking the blazer to cover up the bottom portion of his plain white shirt, trailing up to his navy tie bespeckled with white dots housed under a messy collar.
Ada whined as she was scolded, yet Hana backed her up.
"Y/N has a boyfriend!" She teased.
Your father raised an eyebrow, believing Hana more than the kindergartener. "Really?"
You throw a deco pillow at him.
"Hey! Honest question!" He laughed, swatting the pillow just before it smacked him in the face. "Is it that Haru kid?"
"No, dad. He's on the same level as Hana." You scrunch your face, throwing another pillow.
"Oh, I see. So who should I be threatening then?" He crossed his arms, now at the bottom of the stairs. Despite the annoyance, it was nice to see him like this again, and it showed in your smile, which you inherited from his own reflecting yours.
"There'll be no threatening!" You huff, pointing a finger at him accusingly. "Don't you have an interview to be getting ready for?"
"Yeah, yeah." He waved dismissively.
You weren't satisfied. "Do you know what to say?"
"I have done job interviews before, kiddo."
"Not for a long time." Hana chimed in.
Your dad winced, rubbing the back of his neck. "Fair, but you could've saved that line for at least a few months."
"C'mon, dad." The sight of his messy tie brought a small smile to your face. You decided to fix it for him, readjusting it much to his surprise. Your father blinked twice, the resemblance between you and your mother never more clear. He had spent so long in self isolation and deprecations, he had only realized how big his kids had gotten.
But there was no more time to be wasted on pity.
Once the tie was smoothened out, he pouted. "Y/N, are you implying you don't like my tie tying skills?!"
