Kento wasn't normally a frazzled man.

Whenever he wanted to do something, he'd do it with confidence, or reluctant, but neither in a state of nervousness.

At least not until now, when a H/C baker looked at him with those sparkling eyes that threatened to buckle his knees.

"You want me to go with you?"

"As my plus-one."

Kento's hands clasped together in front of his abdomen, steady brown eyes peering into E/C ones. Today, he wasn't wearing his green-tinted glasses. He wouldn't admit it, but he knew the baker liked seeing his eyes, for some odd reason. To him, his eyes were plain, ordinary. They weren't big like idols, nor some fancy colour like Gojos. They were just a common brown, and those same brown eyes flickered over Y/N's expression, not knowing what he would do if she said no.

Not that Y/N had any intentions of doing so.

"Of course!"

Her quick response led Kento baffled. He had been stressing over this many nights prior, running his fingers through his hair to the point even gel couldn't fix it from it's ruffled state. Relief immediately flooded him, but he was still doubtful of his own charm winning someone like her over. "That's it? You're not going to ask me where or when?"

"Well... where is it?" She sheepishly ask. Her tone wavered, not meaning to sound so eager, but it was endearing to Kento.

"It's at a high school."

"Oh. Like a class reunion?"

"Yes. The event is next Friday, and it starts at 7. I'll be picking and dropping you off, it that is alright to you." He spoke slowly, almost irrationally as if it would scare her away if he sped up. He was also taken aback by how quickly she agreed. Guess all those troubling thoughts he had of her straight out rejecting him or hesitating were for naught.

Y/N nods. "I'll send you my address." Her fingers dweleved in to your apron pocket, fishing out your phone. The two of you realized that neither of you had the other's number, so Y/N handed him her phone to make a new contact.

Kento realized how much trust she had in him. She didn't even hover over his shoulder after giving him her phone. He could've easily gone through any of her messages, snooped through her wallpapers and photos, but he was a gentleman-- he didn't even have to refrain as the thought to be creep didn't even pass his mind.

A message popped on her phone moments after.

"Hi. This is Kento."

"You're so proper." Y/N giggled at his impeccable grammar. As a joke, she texted back, "Got any proof?"

The man read the text, a sharp exhale leaving him as he came up with an idea. Before the woman could blink, his other hand grasped her palm, lacing her fingers within his as he lifted his phone. His warm touch accompanied with his ginger hold had the baker melting, barely noticing the click of the camera, and her phone ping. She opened it up to see the picture of their interlocked hands.

"Satisfied?" He certainly was. She smelled good, like always, and her skin felt smooth, yet strong.

"Satisfied." Y/N didn't let go of his hand.

"Gosh, the two of you are so cheesy." Shiori's voice rings out from behind the counter, startling the two. "I know you're on your lunch break, Y/N, but that doesn't mean you have to scare all the customers away with your flirting."

Kento blinked twice, just watching Y/N's face warm in embarrassment as she clamored a defense. "I'm not!" He felt Y/N's pulse speed up, and his rubs his thumb over her wrist in a comforting gesture. An amused smile cracked his previously surprised expression as she dragged him outside to avoid Shiori's taunts.

"Sorry about that." Y/N murmured under her breath as they left the bakery. "She's very... overbearing, to say the least."

Kento's simply patted her head. "No need for apologies. I know what it's like to have someone like that."

"Really?"

"We'll be lucky if we can avoid him next week." He said dryly, a white haired sorcerer no doubt cackling at the thought of being a nuisance.

"Well... I'm excited to go with you. It'd be great to get my mind of things."

Like the bakery shutting down soon.

The memory still hurt Y/N, enough for Kento to tell, and his heart ached, knowing there wasn't anything he could do to help except be there for her. He squeezed her hand in comfort, grateful the street was empty so no one could take away the pleasure of this moment.

Even though next week was still a while away, he'd make the most of it, and before he could lose his nerve, he brought their hands up so he could softly kiss her palm. "Can I drop you home?" He didn't want to leave her this soon, and to his relief, she nodded.

"I'll introduce you to my sisters."
