Chapter - 8

MANIK'S CAR :
Manik was driving the car...cabir was sitting
beside him..in middle of back seat MukBhi
and navya were sitting..and on the last seat
Dhrulya...
Cabir : he look backwards "guys..i think
hume na..apne concert mei ..is baar kuch
alag karna chahiye..what say..." ..everyone
gave him "WHAT" look and he just signal
them to look Manik..who was only driving
silently..and they found him lost
somewhere..
Abhi : "ummm..so Manik what's your plan
for the concert.."..he asked him after giving
a pat on his shoulder..but still he was lost..
Manik : "nandini.."..he muttered sub
consciously...everyone look at each
other..while Abhi was busy in observing his
each n every action..
Cabir hold Manik's hand which was on the
gear ..
Cabir : "Manik..you okay na.."...he pressed
his hand lightly..now it drew his attention
towards all of them...
Manik : "han..kuch keh rahe the tum
log..."...all were tensed to see him so lost in
his own world...
Abhi : "ummm..no not all.."...he paused
sometime and again continued .."Cabir..i
think you should drive the car now..bahut
dair ho gayi hai..manik is driving since a
long time..he must be tired.."..he just gave
cabir "DO AS I SAY" look..and Cabir nodded
his head in Yes..
Manik : "No..no ..abhi ..it's absolutely
fine.."...
Cabir said to himself.. "yeh ese nahi
manega..i have to act normal..like old
cabir.."..
Cabir : "kyu..tujhe kya lagta hai..gaddi tu he
chala sakta hai..by the way let me tell
you..mai tjhse achi aur safe driving karta
hoon..chal ab rok car jaldi..warna..i will
jump out of the car..."...he tries to scare
him..and manik just smiles at his antics and
stopped the car in a side..
Manik : "yeh le.by the way car mein central
lock tha ..tu door open nahi kar
pata...nautanki..."..he said last word rolling
his eyes upwards and he stepped out of the
car..everyone chuckled at his statement..
Cabir also stepped out of the car and soon he was on
the driving seat and Manik was sitting beside
him..through out the journey every one was
continuously talking to Manik just to divert his mind
from other things...
Just then manik saw something..and he asked Cabir to
stopped the car..and he put the breaks
abruptly..everyone is worried now as why all of a
sudden Manik asked him to stop the car..
Cabir : "Manik..kya hua..all ok na.."..he look towards
Manik..who was continously looking in his left side out
of the window...they all look in the direction where he
was gazing at..and what they found made them
surprise as well as sad..
It was a 'dhabha'...the same 'dhabha' where they last
time stopped to eat food..Manik stepped out of the car
and start walking towards the it..while everyone else
follows him as well..While walking he remembered his
last encounter over there..
(flashback) :
Manik was driving the car while nandini was beside him
and Mukti,Cavya and Dhrulya were sitting on the back
seats..(last time abhi wasn't with them as last moment
he had to leave for a important seminar)..
Manan were stealing glances and sometimes Manik
gestured a kiss to her which makes her shy ..Nandini
was starving now...she put her hand on her belly and
start making cute cute faces..
Nandini : "Manik..mujhe bhook lagi hai.."..she said like
a 2 year kid..which makes Manik to kiss her right there
but he controlled himself..manik just smiled at her and
hold her hand in his hand..
Manik : "relax..mai dekh he raha hoon..koi restaurant
dikhe to..i will get food for you.."..and he
kissed her knuckles...everyone face palm
themselves as they know the romance will
begin again..she also smiled at his gesture
but soon she found a 'dhabha' ..they were
about to pass it..
Nandini : "Manik stop the car.."..she
shouted..and Manik applies break suddenly
and car stops with a jolt..everyone was
tensed with this..
Manik : "kya hua nandini..u ok na..tum
chillai kyu..tumhe kahin pain ho raha hai
kya..bolo na..."..he said in one breath..
Nandini : "dhabha.."..she said in a very
exciting tone..like a kid finally found a lost
toy ..
Manik : "What..have u gone mad..u scared
the hell out of me..for this.."...he said in
disbelief..and a little anger..
Everyone just looking at the duo..like some
movie is playing in front of them..
Nandini ; "Manik am hungry.."..she said by
making a cute pout..now his all anger just
flew out of the window..he cupped her face and said..
Manik : "i know nandini..but this is dhabha..it's not
healthy.."..he said very calmly and lovingly..
Nandini : "she removed his hands from her cheeks and
crossed her arms around her and look straight "but
mujhe yahin khana hai.."
Manik again try to make her understand "Nan..."..she
cut him in between..
Nandini : "chal rahe ho ya nahi..."..she said
in a stern voice still looking straight..he just
face palm himself..
Manik : "Fine..chalo.."..he knows he can't
deny her and moreover he can't make her
angry too..and she was starving as well..so it
can lead to disaster for him..for making his
sweet lioness angry..so he dropped the idea
of arguing with her..
Nandini instantly hugged him with a wide
smile..he also hugged her back and
smiled..they were about to step out of the
car when Cabir's voice made them realize
they are not alone in the car..
Cabir : "OOO..MYYY..GODDD"...his eyes
become more big..and said in
disbelief..while others chuckled at his
reaction but Manan were confuse..
Manik : "bol de kuch..isse pehle teri aankhei
bahar aa jaye.."...he purposely said this as
Cabir was still looking at them with wide
eyes..
Cabir : "I didn't knew this..."..he put his
hand on his chin and make expressions like
he is thinking something..and he rolled his
eyes upward ..as a sign of deep thoughts..
Nandini : "what u didn't knew.."..she said
out of uncertainty..
Cabir : now he made himself relax and sit
comfortably and a evil smirk appear on his
face... "yahe ..ki..somebody can rule
over..THE MANIK MALHOTRA..i mean..i
didn't knew ..he will ever accept his
defeat.."..and he start laughing maniacally
..while others were trying hard not to laugh
..but Manan looked at each other with blank
face and then looked at cabir who was stll
laughing ..
"SHUT UP CABIR..."...Manan shouted at him
in unison...Now cabir stopped his laugh
instantly because he didn't wanted to meet
his death so soon..while others were having
tough time to hold their laughter..
Manik : "is joker ka ho gaya ho toh..hum
kuch kha le..chalo guys ..."...with this Manan
stepped out..but before they goes
out..nandini asked them to come fast..for
which mukti said "tum log chalo hum abhi
aaye"..so Manan left for dhabha..
As soon as Manan stepped out of car..they
all burst into laughter while Cabir looked at
them surprisingly..
Mukti : holding her stomach and laughing
hard.. "cabir..trust me..aaj tera murder ho
he jata..un dono ka face dekha tha.."..and
she again burst into laughter..
Cabir ; "yaar..mukti..u have to believe me on
this..jab wo Monster Manik akela hota
hai..he is dangerous..but jab wo us Lioness
ke sath hota hai na..when they both are
together..nothing is dangerous than
them..."..he took a sign of relief that he is
safe today..but he thought may be some day
his jokes on them will make him a
history...everyone controlled themselves and
move out to the love doves..and after eating
and some chit chats..they all again start their
journey..
(flashback end)
As soon as Manik and others entered in the
'dhabha'..everyone start approaching as they
are the most famous band of the
country..but manik didn't paid any heed and
directly went to the same seat where last
time he sat with Nandini..Fab-4 handled the
crowd well along with navya and abhi...and
asked the owner of the dhabha to give some
privacy ..he agreed and even people also
agreed ..and soon they also join Manik who
was sitting and his one hand was on the side
of his seat ..caressing it with utmost love..
Cabir : "ummm...manik ..let's order
something..."..he said while looking at
him tensely and everone can sense Manik's
restlessness..and soon they ordered food..
Just when they were eating..A small baby
girl approached Manik and put her hand on
his shoulder..and said very cutely..
Girl : "aap..wo Manik ho na..jo bahut ache
ache gaane gaate hain..."... this girl drew his
sttention towards her..and smile appear on
his face..the girl was very small but her
hairs were very very long..she was wearing
a beautiful red frock with white dots on
it..she was looking like a angel..manik
cupped her face in his hands and kissed her
forehead..and smiled at her..
Manik : "yes..mai he Manik hoon..."...now
the girl was very very happy..her happiness
haven't has any boundary..she jumped and
clapped her hands in excitement..which
makes other smile as well..soon they found a
peace on Manik's face..
Girl : "aap mere liye sing
karoge...pleaseee..."...she folded her tiny
hands and pleaded him..Manik just holded
her hand and make her sit in his lap..
Manik : "of-course i'll sing for you..but ap
mujhe apna naam nahi bataungi..."..he said
while smiling and the girl just hit her head
with his tiny hands ..
Nandini : "ufffo!..mai bhi na..sorry.. My
name is ARSHIKA.."
manik was very happy with this girl..so
when owner came forward to take the girl
away as fab-4 asked him to not send any
one..cabir stopped him and said let the girl
be here..and everyone also ask him the
same..as their Manik was happy..
Meanwhile Manik was playing with the girl
..still she was in his lap..
Manik : "so..ap itne small se ho..aur apka
naam itna big.. "...he mentioned small and
big word by making hand signs..and
everyone was seeing him ..how childishly he
is enacting..
Arshika : "haan..but u know..mere naam ka
meaning use bhi big aur deep hai..."..she
said in a bit exciting tone..manik smiled at
her and asked..
Manik : "acha..to batao..kya hai apke naam
ka meaning.."..
Arshika : "the meaning of my name is..the
one who spread happiness..who gives
happiness..."...she smile to the fullest but
now manik's smiles fades away and a weak
smile appear on his face...he was looking
downwards and he re minces...
(flashback) :
Nandini and Manik was in Nandini's
room..Manik was in half sitting and half
lying on the bed ..nandini was in his
arms..her head was on his heart and his
hand was in her hairs..caressing it..
Manik : "nandini..."..
Nandini : "hmmm"..he said while playing
with his shirt's buttton..
Manik : "you have brought galore happiness
in my life..."..she simply smile and snuggled
more in his arms ..he also tightly held her..
Nandini : "and you brought meaning to my
life.."...Manik was touched ..he simply kissed
her head..
Nandini : "you are just like your
name..manik..a gem..which i will treasure all
my life..."..she smile widely and so as
Manik..he thought to tease her..
Manik : " wese Nandini..i don't know the
meaning of your name.."..now nandini
moved out his arms and sit straight beside
him..and glared at him..
Nandini : "seriously manik..u don't the
meaning of my name.."..she make a cute
pout..on which manik chuckled..he held her
hand and make her fall on him..he put tuck
her hairs behind her ears and asked very
lovingly..
Manik : "toh..tum bata do na..."..he said in a
very caring tone and blow air all over her
face..which makes her shiver..she closed her
eyes..soon she forgot that she was a moment
ago angry on him..she opened her eyes and
cupped his face in her arms while he held
her more tight from her waist..
Nandini : "the meaning of my name is..the
one who spread happiness..who give
happiness.."...he smiled at her and came
near her eyes..
Manik : "I know..."...and he smiled ..she
realized he was tricking on her..she pushed
him lightly and moves out from his
grip..and start beating him..he tries to save
himself but his attempt all in vain..she
somehow manage to grab her and he falls
over her..
Manik : "so..so..so...finally my prey is right
in front of me..so kyu na..have some
fun..."..he smirked ..
Nandini : "manik..don't you dare..."..she
warned him as she knew his intentions..
Manik : "are kyu..see..just like your
name..let just spread HAPPINESSS..."...he
said the last word with a evil grin...and soon
he start tickling her..and soon the whole
room was full of their giggle..happiness
were all around...
(Flashback end)
Arshika wave her hands in front of his
eyes..and calls him again and again..then
Cabir came and pat on his shoulder..it
brings him back from his memory lane..
Cabir : "Manik..where have you lost...bula
rahi hai woh tujhe.."..
Manik : "umm..no where.."..he said with a
weak smile..but Cabir knew he must be
remembering Nandini..
Arshika : "aap mere liye sing nahi
karoge??.."..a small sadness was visible in
her voice..Manik smiled at her and make her
stand on her feet and then soon he also
stood up and took her in his arms..he put
his hand on near her small heart..
Manik : "ab itna pyaara naam hai toh..sing
toh karna parega na..."...she was very happy
and he asked cabir to bring his guitar from
the car...and cabir went to fetch it..
Manik make arshika stand on the bench and start
playing the guitar..soon people start gathering after
listening the chords of guitar..but they were little far
from them as instructed by the owner..manik closed his
eyes..

( he sang the lines with galore love and
passion in his voice..as he mean't every

(he opened his eyes ..and he found Nandini
sitting in front of him..looking at him
..smiling widely..he start moving towards
her...)

( he sat beside her and sing..she gently
caresses his face..and kissed his forehead..he
look straight into her eyes and a tear fell
from his eyes..she wiped them off..and
nodded a 'NO' to him..he closed his eyes..)

Jo bhiga de poori tarah..
(when he opened his eyes..she was no
where..he start looking here and there but
she wasn't around..everyone knew what he
is looking for..but they can't help
him..arshika came forward and making him
look down and he bent down infront of him
..and she wiped off his tears and he simply
smiled at her)
Yaariyan ve... Yaariyan..aaa.. yaariyan...
And he ended the song..arshika hugged him
tight and thanked him..soon her father came
and took her away after handshaking with
fab-5 , navya and abhi..
everyone stand beside Manik While Manik
was watching Arshika going away from his
sight..
Cabir : "such a cute girl na..."..manik also
looking in the same direction..
Manik : "haan..just like Nan..."..and he
stopped mid way while everyone look at him
sadly..and he avoid looking at them..
Dhruv : "guys i think we should leave..it's
already very late.."
Abhi : "haan..dhruv is right..let's just move
out.."
Manik : "aannn...woh tum log chalo..mai
abhi aaya.."..he tries to go but Cabir stopped
him..
Cabir : "tu kahan jaa raha hai.."..
Manik : "washroom Cabir..abhi aata hoon..."
Cabir : "but..."..abhi interrupted and let
Manik go..everyone look at him in confusion
as why he let him go alone when he knows
his condition..he blink his eyes in assurance
but As soon as Manik left the place ...Cabir
went behind him and by saying he can't let
him alone...
Washroom :
Manik was standing in front of mirror and
suddenly he saw the reflection of nandini in
the mirror..but when he turned around ..she
wasn't there..tears were welled up in his
eyes..and closed his eyes tightly and tears
make their way out from his eyes..he look
upwards still his eyes were closed..
Manik : "kahan ho tum...plz..come
back...bring my soul back..."..now tears
were flowing more fast ..he somehow
gathered himself and washed his face..
while he was washing his face ..somebody
was looking at him from back..and the boy
start approaching towards Manik slowly
slowly ..manik was oblivious of his
surroundings..but before the boy reach
towards Manik...Cabir came inside calling
Manik's name..and the boy hide back behind
the wall ..
Cabir : "manik..chale..we are getting late.."
Manik : "ya..chal.."..but before he moves out
..cabir hugged him tightly..first manik was
stunned but soon he also responded the
hug..
Cabir : after breaking the hug "tu theek hai
na..."..
manik assured him ..by nodding a yes to him
and gave a smile..soon they came out ..
after they went outside..the boy came out..
Boy : "shittt..is cabir ko bhi abhi aana tha..i
almost reached him...damn it..."..he kicked
the dustbin in frustration..a voice from back
made him startled..
Voice : "stop playing hide n seek"...
And the boy turned around and he was
shocked to see the person standing infront
of him...and it was Cabir..
but a pair of eyes were also spying on both
of them..it was none other than rohan..he
took out phone from his pocket and dialled
a number..
Rohan : "woh larka..use Cabir ne dekh liya
hai.."
Voice from other end : "Before Cabir
interrogate anything from him ..kill that
boy..."
Rohan : "ji..."..he cut the call and bring out
gun from his pocket and targeted in the
direction where they both were
standing..screen freezes..on the trio faces..
