Chapter - 14

SOMEWHERE IN DARK ROOM :
The girl was sitting on the bed and looking
to the bracelet intently..suddenly she heard a
melodious voice ..she found it familiar..she
look upwards and slowly but with great
difficulty moved out of bed and open the
room's door..she in spellbound followed the
source of that voice..she was walking in the
direction of that voice..but what she found
..made her freeze on the spot..tears
brimming down from her eyes..but a big
wide smile appeared on her face..she
found..servants of the house..watching t.v
and the voice which she was following was
of none other than 'MANIK'..she was crying
profusely but smiling to the fullest as if she
got her life back..as if she got the reason of
living back..she start moving towards
t.v..and stopped very close to it..she lightly
touched the screen as she wanted to feel his
touch..
Girl : "MANIK..."..all she can utter was his
name..tears were dripping down from her
eyes..she was very lovingly looking at his
face..all the servants were confused as in
this whole 1 week she never came out of her
room..
Girl : she turned around asked one of the
servant with a smile.."yeh..yeh video..yeh
kab ka hai???..."...she was stammering..
Servant : "betiya yeh 1 week pehla ka hai.."..
Now her happiness has no bounds..she
again turned towards the t.v and paused the
screen on his face..she saw tears in his
eyes..the pain in his voice..she again touched
his face..as wanted to erase every pain from
his life..
"NANDINI.." "NANDINI"...only this name
start ringing in her head..as somebody
calling this name again and again..she closed
both her ears with her hands and shut her
eyes tightly..a servant rushed towards her..
Servant : "betiya tum thk to ho na..."..he said
worriedly..
Girl slowly opened her eyes and moved her
hands from her ears and again look at the
paused video..
Girl : "MERA MANIK...MANIK...WOH ...WOH
ZINDA HAI...MERA MANIK..."...a beautiful
wide smile appeared on her face..after
seeing love of her life safe and sound..but
the next moment she felt dizzy and
fainted...every servant rushed to her and
made her lay down on her bed..a servant
call the lady and asked her to come right
away as the girl has fainted..
OUTSIDE R.T.O OFFICE :
Manik and Cabir were sitting in the car
outside the R.T.O office ..
Cabir : "Manik..bahut public hai..hum agar
ese andar gayye toh..news headline ban
jaegi.."
Manik : "do you think i care??...i don't even
give a damn to it..."..he said angrily and
tried to get out of the car but cabir held his
hands..
Cabir : "pagal mat ban Manik..we can't take
risk.."
Manik : "tu pagal ho gaya hai..itna kareeb aa
kar ..u want me to back out..it's about MY
NANDINI..damn it.."...he literally shouted at
him..
Cabir : "shant ho ja..i know it's about YOUR
NANDINI..isiliye keh raha hoon..think..agar
yeh baat news mei aa gayi ki hum R.T.O
office aaye the..us accident case ke truck ke
owner ke baarei mei pata karne..toh jisne
bhi hai yeh sab kiya hai..woh alert ho
jaega..think about it.."..he tried to pacify him
and he succeeded..Manik realized in his
anger he can't ruin all this...
Manik : "you are right..but we can't sit idle
also na..."
Cabir : "hum andar nahi ja sakte ..but andar
wale bahar to aa sakte hai.."..he said with a
smirk..and Manik understood what he
meant..
Cabir quickly used his contacts and asked
the head of R.T.O department to find every
single detail about the owner and handover
the file to them..as they are waiting outside..
In no time..one of the R.T.O head came out
with the file in his hand and knocked the
car's window..and Cabir opened his side of
window..but not fully...as he wanted to hid
themselves from all the people around
them..
R.T.O head : "sir yeh file hai..isme us truck
ke owner ka name,address,aur contact
number hai.."
Cabir took the file and said "thanks..ap jaa
sakte hai.."..and he closed the window..
Cabir : "manik..it's some..SHAMSHER
MALIK..let's go and meet him..isme address
bhi hai..let's leave asap.."..
Manik : "hmmm..but wait..isse pehle ek aur
kaam hai.."
Cabir : "kya?.."..he said while looking
towards manik in confusion while Manik
look straught ..and he drove away..to some
isolated place..but before leaving R.T.O
office ..he made some call..
ISOLATED PLACE :
Manik and cabir was standing outside the car..manik
was leaning on the car's door crossing his hands
across his chest ..while Cabir was standing beside
him..
Cabir : "Manik..am not getting hum yahan kya karhe
hai.."..
Manik : "have patience sab samjh aa jaega..."
Soon a car came..and parked behind Manik's car..a
person came out of the car and handed the keys to
Manik ..
Manik : "thank u.."...and manik made cabir sit in the
other car then he also sat inside and drove away..
IN THE CAR :
Cabir still in confusion asked manik "tune car kyu
change ki??..."
Manik : "sometimes i think you became stupid or you
are a born stupid.."..he said with a evil smirk..
Cabir : "that wasn't funny at all..ab batega bhi..what's
cooking.."..he said glaring at him..
Manik : "dude..woh jo bhi tha who was following
us..use pata tha ..hum kaunsi car mei hai..although we
had fooled him..but may be he would again try to chase
us..mai koi risk nahi lena chahta tha..that's why i
changed the car..now you get it..."..he said the last line
after hitting on cabir's head with his one hand..
Cabir : "ohhh..i got it..but don't flaunt your smartness
Mr.Malhotra.."...
Manik : in a flow said with a smile"don't you
know..Manik Malhotra is already
smart.."...but suddenly reality hits him and
he remembered nandini's word before
MUSICANA OPENING ACT " Don't you know
Nandini Murthy is already smart"... this thought was
enough to fade away his slightest smile
also..and unknowingly a tear fell down from
his eyes...and Cabir after seeing him like that
realized may be he has disturbed the wrong
strings..
Cabir : "u ok?.."..he said worriedly ..and put
his hand on Manik's shoulder..
Manik : wiped his tears and gave a sarcastic
smile "PERFECTLY FINE"..he said in the most
sarcastic manner..Cabir didn't said anything
further as he knew this discussion will leads
to where..and he was not having any
strength left to see Manik shattered all over
again..
Even though Manik was concentrating in
finding the culprit ..Cabir knew Manik is
dying thousands death every second..loosing
someone whom you loved more than your
life causes the pain which can't be describe
in words ..and Manik he has lost his
soul..his love..his star..his life..after loosing
the heartbeat how can a person live..
In all these thoughts ..they both reached
Shamsher Malik's address..
GARRAGE OF SHAMSHER :
Manik and Cabir stepped out of the car..they
saw a lot of trucks and small vehicles parked
in the side..
Cabir : "Manik..it seems like yahan se trucks
supply hote hai.."
Manik : "hmmm..let's go inside and check.."
They both went inside..and asked for the
owner Shamsher Malik ..a driver recognized
them and asked for their autograph..they
gave it to him disinterestedly..and then he
showed them the direction..
A tall person standing facing his back to
them and was instructing something to the
workers..when Manik called him from back..
Manik : "excuse me.."..
The man turned around and said..
Shamsher : "han ji kaun hai bhai.."..and
soon he recognized them and asked them to
sit and asked a worker to bring something to
them..
Cabir : "bhai sahab ap itni fikar mat
kijiye..hume bas ek help chahiye..kya hum
andar chalke bat kar sakte hai.."
Shamsher : "are bilkul sir ji..mere cabin mei
chalke bat karte hai.."
And they all get inside the cabin and cabir
showed him the truck number and asked
him about the whereabouts of that truck
driver..
Shamsher : "sir ji..woh kya hai..is truck se 2
years pehle accident ho gaya tha..tabse wo
kam pe wapas he nahi aaya ..mai apko uska
address de sakta hoon,..records mei hai..ab
wahan jaake usse mil sakte ho.."..
and they quickly took the address from him
and moved out from there..
OUTSIDE A SLUM AREA :
It was getting very difficult for both of them
to get outside the car..as they saw a large
crowd outside..and they thought if they will
get down from the car all will recognize
them and then it will leads to more
problem..
Cabir : "pehli baar famous hone ke
disadvantages pata chal rahe hai..we can't
roam freely..damn it..."...he said
frustratingly..and just then Manik saw some
ladies in burkha ..
Manik : "mil gaya tareeka.."..
they both get down from the car..after
covering their faces with hanky..they both
tied hanky in such a way that only their eyes
were visible...they asked the local people
about the address and one of them told them
the direction..and just when they both
entered the house...the sight which showed
in front of them..made them freeze on their
path..they both were shocked..horrified to
the core...THEY SAW A MAN LYING ON THE
GROUND ..BREATHING HIS LAST
BREATH..HIS BODY WAS LYING IN THE
POOL OF BLOOD...
They both rushed towards him..but before
the man could say anything ..he died right
there..Cabir and Manik looked terrified..they
both got up from the floor..and Manik
somehow composes herself and made a call
to commissioner to tell him about the
mishap...and commissioner told them that
they should leave from there and he will
handle it all..
They both moved out from there still in
shock..and sat inside the car.,.
Cabir : "who killed him??.."..he said still in
shock..
Manik : "the same person..who asked that
man to kill nandini.."..he tried to interlink
the things..first that car followed them..and
now just when they were so near to know
the truth ..somebody killed that man...he
said after a pause ..."somebody is definitely
there..jo hamare har steps ko spy kar raha
hai..may be that person is still keeping eye
on us.."..he said while looking around..he
closed the windows of car and drove..
Manik was right..somebody was keeping eye
on them..a car was parked a little far from
manik's car..a person inside the car sitting
and the face was covered with a blank cloth
and only eyes of that person was visible..
"Manik Malhotra..you thought it so easy to
get through
me..hahahhahahah...no..no..no...i won't
come so easily in front of you.."..the person
said cunningly..
"I was right..so you got the reason to live
..han..."..the person smiled a bit..."but don't
worry soon i will snatch your life as
well"..now that person removed the cloth
from the face and now the face of that
person is clearly visible..it was none other
than "RAGHAV"...ex - professor of Space
academy..
Raghav : "i have to set a lot of scores with
you Manik..hahahahahaha..." and he drove
away..this time he didn't followed Manik..
INSIDE THE CAR :
Manik was driving very ruthlessly...he was
so frustrated that he was so close but yet so
far...Cabir was continuously trying to calm
him down..but nothing was working...he
was left with no other option..so he secretly
played a song in Nandini's voice...Manik was
till now so angry ..it doesn't even took a
fraction of seconds to calm him down ...after
listening her voice..she is the only solace for
him..cabir knew it..she is his salvation..that's
why he played the music and
he succeeded..manik slowed down the speed
of car..he was so into her voice that he
didn't realized when he hit a man who was
crossing the road..Manik suddenly applied
the brakes and both of them came out of the
car..to look at the man..fortunately the
person was not severely injured..
Manik : "aap theek to hai..am really
sorry..maine dekha nahi.."..he helped the
man to get up..
Man : recognized him and said "aap Manik
Malhotra ho na.."
Manik : "ji...but ap thk ho na.."
Man : "don't worry mai thk hu..actually apki
galti nahi hai..i wasn't concentrating on the
road..sorry.."
Manik : "plz..it was my fault ..mujhe dekhna
chahiye tha..plz ap chaliye mai apko chor
deta hoon.."
Man : "no..it's fine..mai paas mei he rehta
hoon..i will manage.."
Cabir : "no plz..hamari galti hai..plz aap
chaliye humare sath.,.."
And after some more conversation...that
man agreed to both of them and sat on the
back seat of the car while manik occupied
driving seat and cabir sat beside manik..
Man : "by the way AM REHAN SETH..."
Cabir : "am Cabir and he is Manik..as you
already know..but still just for formality..i
introduced.."
Rehan : smiled "yes..who doesn't know
fab-5"..and all the three smiled and soon
they all arrived at rehan's place..he invited
them inside..and they both get inside..
Rehan : "that's my small sa house..."...cabir
chuckled as the house was damn big..it was
not more than a mansion..
Cabir : "right small sa,..."..he
said sarcastically with a smile..
Just then Manik phone rang and it was
abhi..he answered ..Abhi asked him his
location ..first Manik asked why but when
abhi again asked the same question
..he reluctantly told the address and abhi
said to him to be there only they all are
coming right there only..Manik was tensed
as why he said like that..just after cutting the
call..Manik's eyes fell on the picture which
was placed on the side of the table..he stood
up from the sofa and moved towards the
pic..he was shocked to the core after seeing
the pic..Cabir found him standing like a
statue ..so he also moved to him and he was
also shocked after seeing the picture..
Cabir : "yehhh...yehhh picture..."...he said
with great difficulty while Manik was still in
state of shock..a voice from back broke his
trance..
Voice : "Main batati hoon is photo ka
sach..."...manik and cabir turned around
and found a lady standing on the door..and
soon all their friends also came..
Lady : "lekin usse pehle..ek sach aur
hai...aur woh yeh ki..TUMHARI NANDINI
ZINDA HAI..."...she said looking straight into
his eyes..
Now this comes as a biggest shock of his
life...tears start flowing down from his
eyes..he lost his sanity for some time..he was
standing there as a statue...he thought he is
watching some dream..and when he will
open his eyes it will vanish..he didn't even
blink his eyes even for once.."TUMHARI
NANDINI ZINDA HAI.." ,,,only this line was
echoing in his ears...
