"You bastard"

"Watch your language," Lorenzo warned Marco, who didn't hesitate to push Nico away.

The two had been arguing over something silly, and Nico had revealed he had been the one to cause a previous argument.

No one knew what the two were actually arguing about, but they knew it wasn't serious.

Lorenzo only put a stop to it once they started to swear. He didn't want the triplets to be triggered.

"Yeah, watch your language," Nico mocked.

"This is exactly why I don't hang out with you all at once," Lorenzo muttered.

Sure, he spent time with his siblings, but it was rare that he spent time with all of them outside.

"Are they always like this?" James was the one who dared to speak first.

"Yes. When dad isn't around and we go out, they can be the two pettiest people you'll ever meet. Don't take them seriously, though. They mean no harm, " Lorenzo replied.

Leo or Lorenzo hadn't bothered to stop them because they  meant no harm, and it seemed to provide a distraction from what they were all trying to avoid .

"Sooo are we gonna address the situation?" Alex didn't care for the arguing, but he wanted answers.

"I think it's best we wait until dad is done speaking to her," Leo said.

"I don't think that's fair. We have a right to know about her. " Alex pushed for information.  He didn't know what he wanted , any information would do.

"And you will. But you will have to ask dad, " Leo replied.  His tone became sharper, signalling he was done with the conversation.

But Alex wasn't.

"I don't get what the big secret is. She obviously left a while ago, but you're all clearly hiding something. "

Even Marco and Nico stopped their arguing to look at their older brothers' reactions . Of course they knew.

It was obvious to them all that Leo's words were final. That he wasn't to be questioned.  And that's exactly what Alex had done.

Lorenzo had been oddly quiet during the conversation.

Leo's gaze became more dangerous as he looked down at Alex.
"I suggest you stop asking questions and keep your mouth shut."

It threw everyone when they heard how cold he had spoken.  Leo was not the type to be easily angered.  But the topic of their mum was a touchy subject. Especially for lorenzo.

Alex knew when to shut up, so he simply nodded and looked to Skye and James to check if they were okay.

Alex didn't like not knowing,  he felt on edge, and he didn't know how to protect his brother and sister.

"Enough."

Lorenzo only had to say one word, and instantly, everyone stopped. He mostly directed it at Leo.

"What's gotten into you?" Lorenzo asked Leo when the two eldest brothers left their siblings at the table so they could go order food.

"I could ask the same thing to you. You've barely spoken. Someone has to take control of the situation if you're not going to, " Leo replied.

"You shouldn't have spoken to him like that,"

"He has been told time and time that we won't answer his questions."

"You need to apologise to him." Lorenzo's words were final.

At the table,  Marco couldn't help but worry about the triplets. They had been quiet for a while now.  And that's when it clicked. They hadn't said a word since Leo told Alex to keep his mouth shut.
