The next day.
Dale's Pov.
I woke up early this morning and went to check on the kids, I walk in the bedroom and see that Daryl is gone, but Bella is still asleep. "Daryl." I softly call, trying not to wake Bella. But I get no response. "Daryl." I call again, as I start to look around the room, I then hear a noise coming from the closet.
"Daryl, is that you??" I ask as I open the closet door, revealing Daryl curled up in the back right corner of the small room. "Why are you in here??"
"I heard footsteps, I thought it was daddy." Daryl said with a shaky voice.
"It was me, not your daddy, your daddy is in jail." I say as I at down next to Daryl.
"But he said he would come back, and hurt you and Bella, and I don't want ya'll to get hurt because of me."
"We're not going to get hurt, your daddy's not going to get out of jail for a long time, we're safe and your safe as long as I'm here."
"Thank you Dale."
"You're welcome, now let's go wake up Bella, you want to go shopping today and get some new toys??"
"Please, I've never been toy shopping before!!" Daryl said with excitement in his voice.
We woke Bella up and ate breakfast, then headed to the toy store.
When we walk in the store Bella starts looking around asking if she can have EVERYTHING in the store. But Daryl is just standing there looking around but not moving. So I squat down next to him and say "you can go look around and touch things, just don't break anything, ok??"
"I don't know where to go." He says kinda confused.
"Do you like cars??" I ask.
"Yes." He replied.
"Bella come here, let's go to the hot wheels aisle."
"Ok, daddy I love hot wheels" she says while running towards us.
Bella runs picking up every hot wheel along the way. "Daryl go pick out as many as you would like."
"Are you sure??"
"Positive, go ahead before Bella gets them all."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Daryl then walks over and starts picking up the cars one by one asking Bella if that is a good choice, and finally after 3 hours in the toy store and 150 hot wheels later, we are checking out and heading home.
At home.
Dale's Pov.
When we got home Bella started opening the hot wheels, "Daryl are you going to help??" She ask him.
"If you want me to."
"Of course I want you to help, what's mine is yours too." When she said that Daryl walked over and sat down next to her, and for the first time EVER Daryl Wyatt Dixon smiled.
Sorry it's kinda short it's midnight and I'm about to fall asleep typing.
