A Breath of Contaminated Air

I got off the bed,grabbed my skateboard,and told my mom I was out! I slammed the door and got on my skateboard. I was rolling and rolling. I felt in my pocket and found my Mp3 player.I quickly turned it on,put in my earphones,and listened to Radiohead's 'Creep.' I liked this song.It made me feel like it was alright to be different.I rolled down into a tunnel,rolled out,and my a right to my secret skate place only my three friends and I knew about. I saw Blaze laying on the ground looking towards the clouds.

"Hey Jennifer!" Jennifer was her real name and she hated it.I gave her the nickname Blaze because well there are many reasons.

"Why must you taunt me with that horrible name?"I laughed and she got up.We did our handshake and got on our boards and began to skate.I did a pop-shove-it and then began to grind on the rail.I fell and then laughed."Walk it off dude,walk it off!" We said that to each other whenever one of us fell.I got up and began to skate again.I ollied and kickflipped.I manueled and try to grind again.This time I didn't fall."OHHH!" We screamed and began to laugh.We got off our boards.

"Where's Earthquake-" Sean"- and Firecracker-" Leo"? I asked as we sat down.

"I dunno. I think they went home to help their mom."Sean and Leo were brothers.Sean was called Earthquake because everytime he did a trick and landed it the ground will shake. Leo was called Firecracker because whenever he skated it was like woah he blew our minds.He blew our minds with whatever he did.

"Why are you here?" Blaze looked at me confused.It was Thursday and I never skated on Thursday.Why?Because I always had some homework assignment I usually blew off.This time I did it at school.

"I can't hang with my pals.Um well, one pal right now."We snickered.

"I can tell somethings wrong." She looked at me with her red hair in her face.

"Nothing!"I lied.

"I know something's wrong and you're going to tell me now."She smiled her devilish smile I always gave into.

"Josh keeps bugging me." I mumbled.

"Yeah, Sarah told me what happened in art." I looked at her.She and Sarah never got along and hated each other.

"You talked to Sarah?"

She smiled."Just to get some information out of her and don't change the subject!" She pointed.

"I'm not giving in into his tricks."

Her green eyes grew big." Good, that's something Earthquake and Firecracker would hate!" Blaze thinks Earthquake and Firecracker both like me, but they don't. Earthquake really likes Blaze."Whatever!" We'd been skating and talking for a long time,we didn't even notice it was almost night.

"Hey,want to hit some?"Blaze pulled out some pills and a roll of grass.This is why we called her Blaze.She had a drug addiction.We called her Blaze because she always wanted to smoke some or sniff some.The pills were coke and well you know what the grass is.

 "Naw, man my mom scoped me for that stuff." Blaze crushed the pill and sniffed it.

"Good thing I don't have a mom." Blaze mom died when she was four.Her dad remarried a bleach blonde bombshell.She hated her and Blaze hated her stepmom.She began to laugh.I took three pills,crushed them,and sniffed.

"Man,why are you laughing so hard?"Blaze laughed.

"You're high and I'm not laughing just giggling."I was laughing too.

"Man,I'm getting some grass." Blaze pulled out the grass and began to smoke it.I didn't smoke it because I didn't want the smell on me.

"We better go,man.We don't want the cops coming."I pulled Blaze up and threw her arm around my shoulder.She was stoned."I can make it home myself."She said letting go and grabbing her skateboard and stumbling while walking.She fell and we laughed.
