When we reach the training room Simon is fairing well with the swordplay, and Alec is instructing the boys. We walk over to them and when Alec sees us he says, "There you two are. I've been helping these guys. Where'd you two go?"
"We went to go talk. Hey where's Jake?" Jace asks looking around the room.
"Jocelyn took him up to their room, he was getting tired. It's time for his one o'clock nap." Alec says as Matt pulls his daggers out of the target.
All three were now hitting the center of the target almost all the time. I look up and then say, "Okay, guys. Rafters. I'll raise the net."
They nod and climb up. I push a button on the wall and a net pops out under the rafters. I then turn to Jace and Alec and say, "How about we go hunting later the five of us. Simon is included. Also I think I know a certain lyncanthrop who you might like, Jace."
Jace smiles and says, "I don't think so. I've already got someone to love."
"Not that you have someone to love you though." I say as the three of us walk over to where Isabelle is runing Simon. Apparently I had broken a few teeth.
"You guys want to go to the Blue Moon tonight?" I ask as Isabelle puts her stele away.
"Yes, but you are banned from the private poker rooms you know." Isabelle says standing up from the bench she had been sitting on.
"Banned from the private poker rooms?" Alec and Jace ask curiously at the same time.
"Last night she nearly got herself killed." Isabelle states as if that clears it up.
"I'll explain in detail later." I say as Jace calls the guys down and says, "We're leaving so we can't help you train right now. Max you can stay with these two considering that the girls trust them."
"Okay. Clary, are you coming to dinner?" Max asks.
Before I can reply James says, "She never does. Jordan usually throws her an apple or muffin across the room and she goes back to her room or here."
"He's right I'll probably go to my room. I think I have something to draw." I say thinking of the image I wanted to draw.
"Well I'll see you tomorrow then." Max says giving me a hug.
"Hey, Matt, James, don't get anyone killed. I'm sure Jessamine will tell me if you three do anything stupid." I say as Jace, Alec, Simon, Isabelle, Luke, Magnus, and I walk out.
"We know. Jessy catches us every time." James says.
"Your welcome, Clary." I hear Jessamine say.
Everyone jumps except Isabelle, Magnus, and I. The three of us who knew about Jessamine Lovelace laugh and I explain, "Everyone meet Jessamine Lovelace. She is a ghost that helps protect the Institute. I believe Magnus knew her when she was alive."
"Oh yes I did. A lovely girl. Hello, Jessy." Magnus says.
"Hello, Magnus Bane. Don't tell me you've fallen in love with a shadowhunter after all." Jessamine says appearing in front of us then turns facing Alec and says, "You look a lot like Will Herondale, but you aren't the Herondale in this bunch are you?"
Alec shakes his head as Jace says, "I am."
Jessamine looks at him then says, "What a lousy excuse for a Herondale."
I laugh as Magnus says, "Yes I prefer Will over his descendent. Will was at least cute."
"What?!" Alec yelps turning to Magnus.
"Calm down, Alexander. I said he was cute. I never fell in love with him." Magnus explains patting Alec on the shoulder.
"It seems that the Herondales and Lightwoods traded genes. I remember Gideon and Gabriel. Obnoxious they were, of course the Herondales were the sarcastic and witty kind so I hated Will even more." Jessamine says laughing as we all walk downstairs.
"Yes, but I liked sarcastic and witty back then. Now it annoys me." Magnus says laughing.
"Well I better go watch James and Matthew. They love getting in to trouble." Jessamine says before disappearing.
"My boyfriend just had a whole conversation with a ghost." Alec says running his hand through his hair.
"Isabelle, I'm going to my room while you guys go downstairs to wait a couple hours for dinner." I say as we reach our floor.
Isabelle nods and I head to my room. When I walk in I see my gear laying on the bed. I pull out my stele and quickly draw a rune to mend the gear. I clean the blood off of it, and toss it on a chair close to my bed.
I grab my drawing pad and pencils, and sit down on my bed. I open it up, and start sketching the scene out...

Nine o'clock

I had finished the drawing a few hours ago, and was staring at the portrait I had drawn of Jace holding Jacob in his arms. They were standing in the training room, and Jacob was laughing as he held tightly to Jace's black v-neck. They were both staring at me, and there was a glint in Jace's eyes that you only ever had if you loved someone. I had never forgotten that look. He still had it now, but he also had anger for the world in his eyes. In the drawing it was simply love, no anger, just love.
I hear a knock at my door, and put the sketch pad away in a drawer next to my bed. I walk over to the door and open it. Jace is standing at the door with Jacob.
"He wanted to come see his sister and I was the only one done eating. Also Jordan told you to eat this." Jace says holding up a chocolate chip muffin.
I take the muffin and wave Jace in. I shut the door behind him, and he sits down on my bed with Jacob.
I set the muffin down on my bedside table and sit down on my bed with my back against the headboard. Jace comes around the side and sits down beside me. He sets Jake in between us, and smiles as Jacob lays against me.
"You know I was like the last one to finish eating." Jace states pushing Jakes chocolate brown hair out of his eyes.
"I figured that. They serve dinner at six, and it's nine o'clock." I say rubbing Jacob's back.
I had to admit I liked having a little brother.
"Yeah, but Jake really did want to come see you. I did too." Jace says as he puts an arm on my shoulders.
"Yeah, I know that you want to get back together, but even after two years... I'm not ready." I say watching Jacob as he falls asleep.
"It's fine. I just want to be able to hold you like this. No strings. No expectations. Simple. Being able to love you." Jace says as I lean my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah. It's nice. I like it. It's easier, simpler, this way." I say yawning.
"We leave at twelve right?" I ask.
"Yeah, go to sleep. I'll watch Jacob." Jace says as we both slide down so we are laying on my bed and not sitting.
Then, I fall asleep...
