Clary's POV
---
Two hours later
---"Good job, Max. Now, you need to go get some rest." I tell Max as he pulls the daggers out of the target.
"Okay, see you later Clary." Max says hugging me.
"Yeah, I'll see you later. Now go on. Get outta here." I say gently pushing him in the direction of the door.
He walks out the door closing it behind him and I turn around facing the shadowhunters, mundane, and warlock that have been waiting to talk to me while I worked with Max.
"Clary, you wouldn't be interested in becoming the tutor here at the New York Institute, would you?" Alec asks as he hugs me.
"Sorry, Alec, but no. I have a home at the London Institute. I will train Max while I'm here though. I also assume that after his ascension Simon will be joining us in London. Which means you will be training Max." I say looking over at Simon and Isabelle kissing in the corner.
"Yeah, I figured as much." Alec says laughing.
"Clarissa, darling, give me a hug." Magnus commands stepping closer to me.
He hugs me quickly then pulls back for Aline to do the same. After I hug them Jordan hands me my weapons belt with the twenty-four inch long kindjal clipped to the belt. I put the belt on as Adele steps towards me her arms opening to give me a hug.
"I don't take any cobblers. Stay away from me, Adele." I say drawing my kindjal and pushing past her.
I face off against Gabriela and we start fighting. She wields her eighteen inch kindjal that is a matching set to Jordan's. I feel all eyes in the room on us as we fight each other, neither of us holding back. We stay as we battle, neither one of us loosing our ground. Then, Jordan joins the fight and I'm out numbered.
"Bloody hell, Isabelle! Help me over here! Stop snogging your boyfriend!" I call to her.
A few seconds later she draws her kindjal and we fight side by side. I roll over her back, and disarm Jordan who hadn't expected me to be the one she was going against. Then I whip around, and Isabelle and I force Gabriela back. Eventually she drops her sword and says, "Tap."
I smile and put my kindjal back in to its sheath as Isabelle says, "Good job. Here's your kindjal, Gabriela."
"Thanks, you too." Gabriela says taking her kindjal from Isabelle.
"Clary... can we talk?" I hear Jace ask from behind me.
I turn around to snap at him, but I run face first in to a chest. I push back and say, "Sorry, little blonde bastard, but no. If you want I can break your jaw, but I don't want to hear the whining and complaining until you get a rune for the next weak."
"Clary, I just want to talk." Jace says pleading with me.
"She said no, Jace. Now, let's go have some fun." Adele says tugging at his arm.
"Yeah, go have some fun, Blondie." I say laughing.
"Okay, now I need a shower. Let's go Iz." I say wiping my sweaty face.
"Okay, bye Simon. See you later." Isabelle says kissing Simon goodbye.
"Come on, lover girl." I say pulling Isabelle by her jacket.
"Whatever. So we can leave tomorrow after Simon ascends if you want." Isabelle says as we slowly make our way up the stairs.
"Come on, let me help you." Isabelle says wrapping my arm around her shoulders.
"Iz..." I trail off as my legs go weak and Izzy takes on my full weight.
"Stop complaining. You are so weak you are about to pass out." Isabelle says pulling me up the stairs.
"Yeah, catch me, Iz." I mumble out as I pass out...---
Isabelle's POV
---Clary passes out after telling me to catch her.
"I hate you, Fairchild." I mumble as I drag her up the stairs.
"Hey! Need some help?" I hear Jace call from behind me.
"Yes, but not from you." I say pulling Clary up.
"Too bad." Jace says taking her other arm and pulling her arm over his shoulders.
He looks down at her and asks, "Is there any way I could ever get her back, Isabelle?"
"Probably not." I say as we reach my old room.
"Yeah, I figured. How are you going to get her in to a shower?" Jace asks.
I think about it for a minute then say, "She'll take one before the ascension ceremony later today. Now, get out of here, Herondale. Oh, and if you do propose to Adele, wait until we leave tomorrow."
"Yeah... see you later, Izzy." Jace says after helping me sit Clary down on the chair that she always used to sleep in.
"Yeah, and don't worry. Clary is plenty comfortable. She always slept in that chair when we lived here." I say ushering Jace out in to the corridor.
"I still think she'd be more comfortable wi-" I cut Jace off saying, "Cobblers, Jace. Leave."
I shut the door and walk over to Clary's bag. I dig to the bottom of it, and pull out the drawing pad Clary always kept in this duffle bag. I walk over to my bed and open her drawing pad.
The first picture is a sketch of me. The day of the last time she had came hunting with me. I am holding two seraph blades in my hands. She captured the glint of my whip wrapped around my wrist perfectly. I feel like I could reach down and pull the silver pins out of my jet black hair. The drawing is in pencil and no color, but looks so realistic I could see it being a picture and not a drawing.
I turn the page, and their is a drawing of Alec, Maryse, Max, Robert, Clary, and I. I remember the day we had taken this photo. It had been two and a half years ago. Every one of us looked younger, but she had left Jace out. She had also removed a small detail that to most people would be insignificant, but to those of us who remembered when Clary first came to the Institute it was very big. Clary had not drawn in the chain and ring that would have rested on her throat two and a half years ago.
I turn the page and find a picture of Jace. He has white wings and a smug look on his face. It is from waist up, and back runes cover his chest and folded arms. His hair falls in short waves to his shoulders. I wonder why it was still in here when I see the x's across his golden eyes. His mouth is sewn shut and the hilt of a dagger is sticking out of his stomach.
Man she hates him.
I turn the page and she has drawn a picture of us two months after we had arrived at the London Institute. Clary was sitting beside me, and she had already started losing weight. I was standing beside her. We were both in gear, runed, and armed. Clary had a fake smile on her face, and a dead look in her eyes. She hadn't smiled in so long that when I saw her smiling at Max earlier it shocked me.
I turn the page and there are no other drawings. I close the drawing pad and set it down on my bedside table. I set my alarm and go to sleep...
