Min Ho's POV
I shouldn't have been here.
Not in the corner of KISS's library, crouched behind shelves, hidden like some creepy stalker. But there I was, knees aching, watching them through the gap in the shelves.
You can't possibly be tutoring someone this much every week, I thought in disbelief. They've got to be doing something besides... studying. And talking. And... laughing with each other. Why are they laughing so much? Is that normal?
"This is next-level pathetic," Q muttered, not even whispering. His voice snapped me back to our present situation. "Like, when-Kitty-tries-to-stalk level pathetic. And you saw how that ended."
He sat beside me on the floor, peering disdainfully between the books. His cooperation had taken much persuasion on my part.
For context, after the amusement park, __ and I hadn't interacted. Well, besides sending each other reels now and then, but my curiosity had taken over, and I was now overseeing Ray's fourth tutoring session of the week.
This isn't pathetic.
"Shh," I told him.
"I'm not shhing, bro. This is beneath you."
"Uh huh."
He groaned. "God, just talk to each other!"
But I didn't respond. Because __ was laughing.
Laughing.
Or maybe I was overthinking.
"I thought you weren't the jealous type," Q said, louder this time, looking more bored than ever.
"I'm not jealous," I replied firmly. "And will you keep your voice down??" Do you know what a photo of me like this would do to my image? I wanted to say.
"Uh huh," Q mimicked me.
"I'm not!"
I wasn't! I didn't think Ray was better than me. I knew he wasn't. I knew he didn't understand her more. He probably didn't even know that she stayed up till 2am on school nights or that there was a 65% chance she jeopardized her entire education for five more minutes of sleep in the morning.
"Are you two secretly dating or what?" he asked, exasperated.
"We... went to dinner. I held her hand."
Q gasped. "Proud of you."
I squinted as Ray went a little too close. Q leaned forward, following my line of sight. "That's odd."
The way she smiled at Ray made my jaw clench. It wasn't even flirty; she just seemed to be appreciating his company. Like friends.
I hated it.
"What's odd?" I asked, still focused on how close they were.
"Nothing. It's just that I could've sworn Ray was activating my gaydar. Huh."
"Yeah, yeah, I agree," I replied absentmindedly. I barely registered Q rolling his eyes and starting to pick at his fingernails.
"You could just talk to her," Q grumbled. "Instead of spying on her like a creep. But sure, don't listen to me!"
"I'm not spying," I huffed, tearing my eyes away to look at him.
"You're hiding behind a shelf."
"I'm just—"
"You're spiraling," he finished. "And it is not a good look on you."
I opened my mouth to respond, but a laugh pulled my attention back to the table. Ray was now teasing __, and she was laughing and hitting him. Hitting! She only ever hit me.
