Nights like the Blossom Ball were built for illusions, and illusions never lasted long. The moment I stepped through the doors, it felt as though the night had slowed. I was walking through a looking glass, inspected at every angle by every person I passed. Heads turned, eyes widened, and the whispers were more than obvious.

I was used to making statements, good and bad. This time, the confidence I had carefully faked over the past few weeks now felt real and undeniable.

"Did you see __?"  They weren't loud, but the words wrapped around me, acknowledging my presence before I even spoke.

Kitty and Q were the first to run up to me, shouting as discreetly as they could.

"Oh, my gosh, you look INCREDIBLE!" Kitty exclaimed.

"Thanks, Kitty," I told her genuinely. "You look gorgeous."

Q sighed in frustration. "So this is why you didn't show me your dress before! I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were going to have a moment!"

"It's pretty, right?" I asked with a laugh.

Across the room, Yuri waved and winked to me. My smile spread from ear to ear, and I gave her a subtle thumbs up.

"It's literally perfect," Q agreed. "It's giving... sultry, powerful..." he narrowed his eyes, moving his hands around while trying to think of adjectives. "...seductive, fierce, revengeee...OH!" He gasped, putting hand over his mouth. "Oh my gosh! It's your revenge dress!"

I curtsied slightly, unable to hide my laughter. "Just the look I was going for."

"Well you know what? Love this for you," Kitty stated loudly. "Really puts the cherry on top of all your drama. By the way, are you here with Ray? You know, for the last part in our plan?"

Q groaned. "Ray and plan? Seriously? I know your ex is my roommate, but you can let me in on these things."

"I know," I assured. "And Kitty, I've decided I'm just going to cut out all the making Min Ho jealous stuff," I told her truthfully. "If he's willing to mature and move past it all together, I will be too. Of course, I'm petty, but I've had enough."

"Wow. Proud of you," Q mused.

"Thanks!"

I received comments from all of my friends, which made me feel better, knowing how many people really supported me. Madison, Mihee, Yuri, Juliana, and Eunice loved it, of course. Even Ray was telling me periodd.

My eyes drifted across the room, scanning familiar faces. People were grouped in small clusters, talking and dancing. And then I saw him.

I could see every inch of Min Ho's face from across the room.

When his eyes wandered to meet mine, he froze, a glass suspended halfway to his lips. My heart skipped. He looked handsome, there was no doubt about it. His dark hair fell just slightly into his eyes, effortlessly perfect. His eyes caught the light in a way that was something magnetic.

I felt my stomach twist in that familiar, helpless way. It was ridiculous, how much a single look from him could make me melt. My hands itched to wave or do something, but I was frozen, caught between wanting to disappear and wanting him to walk over.

Hi, I decided to mouth at him from afar. He smiled slightly, and mouthed hey back. A sense of calm washed over me, knowing we were together, no matter how far apart we stood.

Of course, Stella wasn't far from him, wearing a black dress.

I scowled upon seeing her look. Of course she had gone for a concept too similar to mine. Her dress was stunning (I should've thought of the matching black gloves, although the thick choker necklace was a bit much), but the good thing about being famous was that everyone only paid attention to me.
