Charlotte's POV
"Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?" Dan spoke to me, his hands cupping my cheeks with his soft hands. I held onto his wrists gently and stared up into his eyes, the same ones that are surrounded by full, dark lashes that I love so much. I smiled and nodded, pulling him down to peck his cheek.
"Of course. And I won't be alone, technically, Phil will be here since Brooke's working." Dan smiled, seeming to feel better about the situation because one of the people he trusted most would be here with me. He let go and clung to my hand instead, massaging his thumb into my pale skin.
"Well, Chris and Pj should be here soon to pick me up but until then we can sit down." Dan gestured to the couch with out intertwined fingers, making me long to rest my tired legs. It's hard being pregnant, and it doesn't help that I constantly feel top-heavy because of this baby bump. I have had the worst nights sleep the past few days because of the babies kicking, and it was never both babies that were awake at the same time. They seemed to switch and kicked all the time while they were awake and it drove me crazy. I have insane bags under my eyes from this and Dan noticed. He tried to comfort me at night when I kept tossing and turning but nothing would help. I usually ended up laying awake in bed until the early hours of the morning when I could see the first light of day peeking through the window.
Dan helped me sit down and he took a seat next to me, letting me lean into his side. I closed my eyes and breathed in his sweet scent. I could have fallen asleep right then and there but I kept myself from doing that, as Dan would have to move me and I am too heavy. I heard a pair of padding feet enter the lounge and I felt Dan look up. I opened my eyes and saw Phil with two strangers, one with curly brown hair and bright eyes and the other that was slightly shorter with a smirk on his lips. It seems that all of Dan and Phil's friends were somewhat taller than the average person, at least the one's that I've met.
"Aww, they're even cuter in person!" The green-eyed one cooed, smiling and waving at me. I tightened my grip on Dan's jacket and remained snuggled up to his side. I'm not shy, not exactly, it's just that I wasn't prepared to meet two new people today. I thought that they would wait at the door and Dan would be on his way, not that I'd actually have to interact with any humans. I smiled warmly at them and pulled detached from Dan.
Dan stood up and grabbed my hands to help me up. As soon as I stood up I straightened out my shirt and I could feel all eyes on my bump. I blushed and crossed my arms over my chest protectively, feeling strangely insecure about my image.
"Charlotte, this is Chris," Dan pointed to the shorter of the two, "And this is Pj, also known as Peej." I walked forward and shook both of their hands, feeling like this whole situation was a bit awkward.
"Well, we're gonna get going." Dan broke the silence and turned to me, wrapping his arms around my torso. His embrace was warm and I fell victim to its sweetness. I pulled back with my arms still clinging to his shoulders.
"Don't do anything stupid." I warned. I felt the other boys look at each other and I wondered if they knew the story, and if they did I wondered if they were thinking "You mean like what happened the first time?". In this case, yes.
"Don't worry, I'm loyal to only you. I'll be home later." Dan pecked me on the lips and the three other men in the room all yelled in disgust. I giggled and shoved Dan towards the door. I watched the three boys retreating backs and then faced Phil. He smiled at me and helped my sit back down, flipping on the television and relaxing with me.
About ten minutes into the show we were watching, one of the babies started moving around and I silenced Phil. I grabbed his hand and gently placed it over the baby, as Phil hasn't felt the babies kick yet. I watched his face change from confusion to excitement in a snap.
