~ Chapter 4 ~

I opened my eyes and let out a huge yawn. I was right, sleep was a good idea.

"Hey there sleepyhead." Zayn said with a laugh.

Napping always made me completely forget where I was and who I was with, but Zayn's charming voice snapped me back into reality.

"Hey, how long I was asleep?" I asked.

I scratched the top of my head, and suddenly thought of my appearance. I bet my hair looked liked a rat's nest. I took a brush out of my carry on and started stroking through the tangles.

"About seven hours. We still have two hours left on the flight though. I awoke thirty minutes ago."

"Oh thanks." I said continuing to brush my hair.

I really didn't want to look unattractive in front of Zayn. How did his hair still look so perfect? Oh that's right, he was perfect.

"Haha, did you know you snore like a pig?" Zayn chuckled.

I was instantly mortified. I wish that this was some kind of dream and those words did not just come out of Zayn's mouth, but sadly this was reality. And reality had a habit of making me look bad.

"I-I-I d-do?" I said stumbling over my words and flushing tomato red.

"Yes and it's adorable." He smirked.

"Oh haha." I said laughing with him, pretending it was okay, but it just wasn't. I didn't care how cute he thought it was, I would never be able to live this down. This was the most embarrassing thing to happen today, and I prayed that this is the worst it's going to get.

The remaining two hours were kind of quiet between Zayn and I, a few mindless conversations here and there. Maybe we didn't have that much in common after all. I sulked just thinking about it.

Well don't they say "Opposites Attract"?

What am I doing to myself? I just met Zayn. I should probably build a strong friendship with him, before turning it into something more. Something more? God, he probably doesn't even like me that way. But he's flirting with me, isn't he? I'm just making this into something it isn't and wont ever be.

We would be going to school together, so I tried to stay positive, and think about the fact that I'd see him everyday.

"Ladies and gentlemen we are about to land, so please fasten your seat-belts." The flight attendant said.

I was so relieved to hear those words. My butt was starting to ache from sitting in this chair for so long. Then again, I didn't want to leave Zayn, and I certainly didn't want to see my mother.

When the plane landed, I grabbed my carry-on and walked down the aisle behind Zayn. I checked my phone. It was about 11 A.M. in England. We set our phones to change service and time zones when we had arrived, luckily it worked.

When we were finally off the plane, we headed into the England Airport, which was huge. I turned and faced Zayn. I wanted to tell him that he made moving here suck a lot less. I was so wrong when I said I would meet anyone as good as Ariana and Luke. And hey, if he can flirt, so can I. But Zayn beat me to the talking.

"Hey it was really nice meeting you. I'll see ya around okay?" Zayn said before I could talk.

It was nice meeting you? See ya around? That's it?

"Yeah you too. I'll see you around school." I said trying not to sound hurt. I was going to say what I wanted to tell him but it didn't matter anymore. I decided to be bold and give him a hug. It was awkward, but at least he hugged back.

"Bye Perrie."

"Bye Zayn." I waved.

So much for telling him he made moving here suck less. I was starting to get the drift he wasn't interested the way I was.

I started walking towards baggage claim. Man, I hate that thing. I wasn't in the mood to deal with people in a rush trying to find their bag first.

In the distance I heard a voice calling, "Perrie! Perrie!"

I quickly turned around hoping it wasn't my mum. Oddly in my favor, it was Zayn. I smiled to myself wondering what he wanted to tell me.

"Hey Perrie, wait!" He ran to catch up to me.

I ran towards him pushing through a crowd of people.

"Perrie." Zayn said again has he caught his breathe. He handed me his phone. "I never got a chance to get your number"

My heart fluttered at those 9 words. Meaningless to others, but everything to me.

"Y-yeah, me either." I stammered and blushed.

My god Perrie, you sound like an idiot. Stop being so nervous.

I handed him my phone in return and smiled from ear to ear. I couldn't believe he came back just to do that, knowing he would see me again. The thought excited me. Maybe he is interested after all...

Zayn handed me back my phone and pulled me into a giant bear hug. Wow he smelled nice. Like Vanilla. Mhm, my favorite scent. I didn't want to let go. I wrapped my arms around him tightly as our bodies intertwined perfectly.

He retreated and began to walk away to what looked like his parents. They must be, they look just like him. "Hopefully see you soon Edwards!" He said cheerily.

Edwards. Edwards.

I repeated it over and over in my head. Edwards. I liked that. I was ecstatic that he already had a nickname for me, regardless of it being my last name.

"Hope so Malik!" I called after him trying to make a nickname out of it, yet it didn't sound catchy to me. It was only cute when he did it.

There was still two months until school started so I was hoping we'd have a chance to hang out in the duration of the summer. I tried not to get my hopes up, I knew he had his friends, but I was hoping I would be introduced at least, something he promised he would do.

I warned myself one last time not to get my hopes up. Its something I do all the time, and I always end up getting hurt.

I was on my way back to baggage claim when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I looked over and it was my mother.

"Forget about me?" She said with a smirk.

Well a girl can only try.
