~ Chapter 19 ~

I trudged up the stairs. There was never a dull moment between my mother and I. You could say she's very good at pushing my buttons.

I walked into the guest room to see what Jade was up too. Whoa. There was no one in the guest room and the guest bed was missing.

You've got to be kidding me.

I stepped into my room only to find my bed shifted at least three feet away from where it used to be, and the guest bed next to it. How did she manage to do this so quickly? I wasn't talking to my mother for that long, was I?

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked.

"Look Perrie, I've been alone for too long. Is it a crime to actually want some company for once?"

Aw. I kind of almost felt bad for her. Yeah almost. I guess I didn't mind her that much. Having a roomie could be fun. Unless its Jade...

"No it's not a crime. But you could have asked and I would have said yes."

"Really Perrie, you would have said yes?" She said accusingly.

She was right. I wouldn't have. I didn't respond.

"Exactly. And it's going to be a pain in the ass to move it back, so roomies it is."

I shot Jade a really fake smile, only to be returned with one back.

I laid down on my bed in hopes this would soon be over. I was about to put my beats on when Jades annoying voice circled throughout my room.

"So what's the problem with you and your mom?" She asked.

How nosy can you get?

"None of your business." I snapped.

"Come on Perrie, I can probably relate."

"Doubt it." I said with no emotion.

"Fine I'll go first then since you're choosing to be an annoying little bitch." She laughed to herself. "What am I saying, you're always an annoying little bitch."

Wow Jade really knew how to make me feel good about myself. And what did she mean by going first? When did this turn into story time?

"Well both my parents are doctors and I'm an only child, so I'm sure you see where this is going." She said.

I simply nodded. I think she's trying to imply her parents want her to be a doctor.

"Well I hate needles, blood, and just about anything doctor related so clearly I don't want to be a doctor."

"You forgot something. You hate people too." I laughed.

She gave me a glare. "Ignoring."

"Anyways, I was fifteen at time this all started. My dad was so chill. He would always say if I didn't want to be a doctor I didn't have to, but my mom was so opposite. She said it was my destiny and that I was brought up that way. It started so many fights between the two of them and two days before my 16th birthday I found out that the divorce papers had been approved and I had no idea. My dads bags were already packed and he left us. It's clearly obvious why they didn't tell me."

"Not really." I said.

"Oh my god Perrie! It's my fault! I was the cause of all the damn fights! If I had just sucked it up and played along and said I wanted to be a doctor they would still be together! Imagine that, being the cause of your own parents divorce."

There were tears forming in her eyes. She must not talk about this often.

"You don't know that Jade." I assured her.
