I was ready to return to America with no boyfriend and no job, just as I had left it.
Arden and I got off the plane, rather drained from traveling.
The minute we got back to the apartment, I retreated to my bedroom. As I plopped down on the familiar covers, my phone started to ring.
"Hello?" I asked since the call was not recognized.
"Hi is this Rachel?" Some woman asked me.
"This is she." I answered in my best professional voice.
"Yes this is Sarah Hammond over at Skipping Stone productions. One of our producers recommended you. We are producing a new film and our first assistant director has quit so could we get you to come in and interview for the job?" She asked.
"Yes of course that would be amazing." I tried to contain my girlish screams behind the phone.
"Ok I'll email you the address and see you tomorrow." She finished.
"Ok thank you." I responded and hung up the phone. Maybe my luck was finally turning around.

After the interview the next day they pretty much told me I got the job and that I would start next Wednesday. I still had a weekend to get through.

Once I got home I started the usual Instagram scroll. Nothing new from Mark and I honestly didn't really care. I started to see a reoccurring theme on some of the youtuber's Instagrams. A plane en route to LA. Then I remembered. Vidcon. I had completely forgot. Probably because I tried to. Arden was going and wanted me to go with. It was in Anaheim for the the weekend. I knew that Joe was not going because of something with his book coming out but i didn't know whether or not Oli was going to be there.
"Arden?!" I shouted from my room.
"Yah?" She shouted back from hers.
"Come here a sec!"
She walked into my room as she was simultaneously pulling up her hair.
"What?" She asked. She flipped down on my bed next to me.
"You didn't remind me vidcon was coming."
"Oh sorry I forgot. But you're already coming with me. I booked our hotel room and I got you an all access pass thing." She answered.
"Ugh. Is Oli going to be there?" I asked. That was my main concern.
"I'm pretty sure he is but I need you to not worry about it. If you don't want to see him then you don't have to."
She really was a great friend.
"Ok I'll go. But you promise me a day at Disneyland?" I asked.
"Of course." She laughed and got up to leave.
"Alright Vidcon 2015 lets do this." I locked my phone and went to go cook dinner.
