"Hi Oli. I'm Rachel. And to answer your question, no, I don't care too much for parties" I knew Oli as oliwhitetv from YouTube. I hadn't watched too many of his videos but the ones I had seen were pretty good.
"Yah me either I suppose. It's fun before everyone starts to lose their cool." He said as he took a sip of his drink. There was something strangely comforting about sitting next to him. He was much taller than Joe, whom was only an inch taller than myself, and he had a much more muscly build.
The bottom of the steps were filled with silence as the music from the top floor seeped through.
"So you sound American what are you doing in queen's country?" He asked while playfully nudging my arm. It got me to smile just a little.
"Long story or short story?" I asked him before finishing off my cup of water.
"Long story if you don't mind" he responded while turning his head directly to face mine. I caught a glimpse of his eyes that seemed so pure.
Mark never wanted to hear the long version of anything I had to tell so I was shocked at his choice."Ok basically I lost my boyfriend and my job in one day so I came here with Arden to get away." I don't know why I was so open with him. I usually hated talking about what was going on in my life.
"Wow that's a bummer." He said with a straight face then laughed a little. "So what was your job?" He asked me."I was a first assistant director at my cousin's production company but then the business went under." I sighed a little while thinking about it. It was a great job that I took after high school. I moved out to LA at 18 and one year later here I was unemployed with no college degree.
"Well that sounds interesting." He said raising his eyebrows a little. His features were rather soft but he was easily very attractive.
"Not as interesting as running a YouTube channel I'm sure." I turned to face him which gave me a better look at him. He fiddled with the quiff of his light brown hair and blushed a little.
"Ah so you have heard of me." He laughed. His smile made me feel more at ease.
"Yah I like your channel. Congrats on a million by the way."
"Thanks and thanks. But yah it's cool I enjoy it."
It was quite once more.
Oli broke the silence "can I get you another water?" He asked.
"Yah that'd be cool." I handed him my cup and he got up from the step we were sitting on. He turned around and I heard his footsteps disappear up the steps. I almost immediately heard another pair coming down. I figured it wasn't Oli back so soon so I turned around to get a look.
It was Joe.
"Hey I've been looking for you." He said as he took the seat next to me. His eyes were slightly glazed but I think he was aware of everything that was going on.
"Why is that?" I asked. Joe almost wore a constant smirk that came from his mouth having a slight upturn to it.
"I just wanted to do this." He said as he grabbed the back of my neck and pulled my face toward his.
The kiss was slow but it was nice. I was in my head the whole time thinking about what this was, how it was going, did my breath smell weird, things of that nature. Before I knew it, it was over.
"Here" Joe handed me his phone that was open to a 'new contact' page. I punched in my info and gave the phone back to him. "I'll give you a call tomorrow." He smiled a very charming smile and headed back up that stairs.
I decided to wait down here for Oli but he never showed up with my water. I figured he just met someone else and forgot so I went up the stairs to find Arden.
"Hey are you ready to go?" I asked her. She was standing talking to Will.
"Yah lets go" she said. She quickly gave Will a kiss and we left the apartment.
We decided to walk back to the apartment since it wasn't more than 20 minutes away.
"So who all did you talk to?" She asked me.
"I talked to Joe some. Oh and I talked to Oli for a little bit." I linked arms with her which was tradition after coming back from a party.
"Oh then do you know why he left so quickly?" She asked.
"What?" I had not the slightest clue what she was referring to.
"Yah when I was talking to Caspar, Oli came up to him and said he had to leave. He looked bummed. Do you know why?"
"Not a clue." I responded. I didn't think I had said anything to upset him so it couldn't be me.
"Weird. So how did things go with you and Joe?"
"Pretty good actually. We kind of kissed."
"What?" Arden stopped in her place which meant I was pulled back with her.
"Yah he kissed me." I responded.
"How was it?" The thing about Arden is that she loved asking questions which was ok because most of the time I had an answer for her.
"It was good." I smiled thinking about the fact that I kissed Joe Sugg.
"Oooooo girl. As soon as we get back you are giving me a step by step of everything that happened."
We both laughed as we continued our walk back. Joe sort of took up my mind. But I couldn't help but think about Oli a great deal. I'm not good with my own emotions so I just decided to figure that one out some other time.
