To my surprise, football was actually more interesting than I thought. Despite the fact that my stomach is whining for food, I wouldn't mind watching a little bit longer.

The more intense the practice gets, the more observant I get.

Drew is actually really good. It must be terrifying to go up against him because he'll just knock you down without a second thought. He also has a really competitive face. I don't know if he really is competitive or that's just the face he puts on whenever he plays.

But my eyes can't help but return my focus back to Nick. Yes I've seen Nick play before, but I never really paid close attention. Now that I'm sitting alone and have no choice but to watch, I discover that Nick is actually really fast. And I mean fast. He might not be the strongest guy on the team or the biggest, but he definitely has a lot of speed on him. He doesn't knock out players, instead he just dodges them. He dodges them as if they're running towards him in slow motion and he just effortlessly moves to the side.

It's funny because in the movies, all those screaming fangirls on the bleachers usually cheer for the really hot dreamy quarterback. However, our quarterback isn't really hot or dreamy whatsoever.

His name is Brandon. He's possibly one of the toughest guys at this school. He's got an uneven buzzcut and a squared jaw. He's known for bossing people around and making unnecessary comments. People claim he's like that because his father was in the military. In other words, it runs in the family. Nick said that he's a douche on school grounds but once he's at a party, he becomes everybody's best friend.

To get straight to the point, the group of girls cheering at the top of the bleachers aren't screaming for Brandon.

They're screaming for Drew and Nick.

I can understand why Drew has fans. He's always had that superstar athlete look to him.

But since when did Nick have fans?

"Drew is way better than Nick. Plus he's cuter." a girl giggles behind me to her friend.

"Yeah but Drew looks like such a stereotypical football player. There's something about Nick that makes him more appealing."

"But Nick is so boring. Drew looks like boyfriend material."

"No way Nick is way more-"

My eavesdropping gets interrupted by the sound of the coaches whistle.

"Good practice guys. Be prepared for the game on Friday." The coach says to the team.

From the corner of my eye I see a figure walking towards me.

I never truly understood why girls found sweaty guys hot. It just didn't make sense to me.

Until now.

Drew just screams fantasy superstar football player. His looks and skill are too perfect to coexist like that. I discreetly place my hand over my mouth to make sure its closed. I wouldn't want to drool to come out.

"Sorry that was a long practice. Hope you didn't get too bored." Drew says to me as he wipes his head with a towel.

"No, not at all. You guys were great."

"I'm just gonna take a quick shower in the locker room, then we can head out. Just give me 10 minutes."

Drew hurries back into the school with the rest of the team. I catch a glimpse of Nick walking along side with them. I want to talk to him before I leave but I can't seem to get his attention when his head is always down.
