"It's the moment son. This is the moment." My father had said to me, today was the day. Our first official battle with the Master Town. It was scheduled to start at 9 AM today, but it could start later or earlier, who knew? Maybe even never, but either way we are eventually going to fight so might as well be today. I looked out the window, the moon was about to sink into the sea and I could already see the fiery colors of the morning colliding with the disappearing royal blue colors of the night. I looked at the clock before my dad and I went downstairs for breakfast, 6 AM. The refugees were already eating breakfast, the men stepping out from the restrooms downstairs, armored and ready to go. Many hugged their wives and children, giving them a few last kisses before leaving to the warehouse for the battle. We walked down the hall and many men gave me a good luck gesture, many women hugged me and said "take care." As I approached the end of the hall a little girl, no older than six years old, who had her brown hair in pony tails and lively gray irises positioned on me, came over to me and gave me a heart warming hug.

"You and my daddy are my heroes." The girl softly said.

I smiled at her and asked "What's your name?"

"Emily."

"Well Emily, nice to meet you." I said, "and thank you for the compliment, and as a hero. I am doing this for you okay. So that you can be happy."

She smiled showing a few missing teeth, "Here." She said, and handed me a metal coin, an American metal coin, dating to 2015, Quarter Dollar were printed onto the front and in the back it had a woman, with a pointed crown holding a torch into the sky, Statue of Liberty, New York, were printed in a circle on the back. "For you." She said. "This was something I found in the street in downtown, it's my gift to you."

"Thank you, Emily." I kneeled down and hugged her tightly for a few moments before handing her to her mother. "Special girl, take care of her." I told her mother, "Good luck out there man," I told her father. I left with my father down the hall into the kitchen, hallways full of people I never got to meet, and I never know if I will. They shared a roof with me and I never got to meet them. I looked down at the coin, it was only twenty five cents, but to a small girl it had immense sentimental value and she gave it to me. A girl I just met today. Only one small girl and her family out of many that were in here.

Rebel military tanks passed by, stopping by the palace to pick up men going to battle, men holding on to metal rolling to the warehouse by the shore where they would pick up guns and protection for their survival in a blood zone. I saw a small black truck pass by, it was Hulk. He already had my cousins in the trunk. Julissa was in the front seat. She was not wearing a battle suit for she was a battle nurse. All the rest were fighters.

My dad hugged me, a tight hug, "you take care out there. I will have my eyes on you from the control center. I want you back home tonight, okay."

"Okay." I said trying to hold in the tears. I could but he couldn't, my dad shed a few tears. He cleaned them and said

"Good luck. I love you son."

I hugged him again for a few moments and then let go. I looked over at my cousins and then went down the steps of the palace and looked back at my dad, "I'll see you soon. Love you." Then mounted on the trunk and rolled away into the road. I looked back, seeing my dad, a now small figure fading as I got farther away from him. Then he disappeared into the distance. I looked at the coin again, tying it to memories, tying it to the future, tying it to all the people I've loved and known. Nicole. Tying it to my feelings. It was now a part of me too, I thought as I secured it under my gloves.

We dropped off Julissa, all of us giving her a last goodbye hug.

"Damn, look at the first family nurse." I said to her.

"Yeah she's gonna kill all her patients." Bryan jokingly said and Julissa punched his shoulder.

"See you soon little sis." Hulk said and hugged her, putting her hair behind her ear, "I love you, take care out there nurse." Hulk said with sadness in his voice. Julissa hugged him again, tightly then she let go, waving at all of us then proceeded to walk into the clinic.

We arrived at the warehouse partying, getting off the truck screaming, "We are wild!" I looked around several women giving out helmets with attached earpieces for hearing central commands and communications between rebels. Guns were being given out, automatic rifles, handguns for extra protection, Bowie knives. Anything that could protect. Bullet proof vests and metal protectives were included in the suits. Helmets were also very protective. There was a woman, Amanda, on a megaphone saying

"Everyone please put on your helmets and find your group leaders. Group leaders to the front." All the group leaders including me, headed to the front, quickly everyone was in line with their leader on the damp, sea sand. From inside the helmets, my dad spoke

"The time is 8:19 AM, everyone start heading to the downtown area, all of you know your fighting sectors, stay within them. There is enough people to cover all the sectors. Two teams per sector, that's 100 people. The Leader's soldiers are scheduled to arrive in about 40 minutes. Stay ready and put for action. The X-Terminators are ready and set for attacking hovercraft. I wish all of you the best of luck and we will be monitoring all of you. Head to downtown and good luck."

Nicole was at the end of the line with her brother, Hunter. She looked at me from behind the clear bulletproof visor. The she turned around, I went to her and pulled up the visor and turned her around, and she pulled up hers.

"Hey, I just wanted to say sorry about yesterday." I said

"It's okay, I was pretty messed up too. Sorry." She said

"I just wanted to say good luck. Take care out there." Her green eyes looked down and I saw a tear roll down her eye. I picked her head up and cleaned the tear. Her sad, wet green eyes looked at me then she hugged me tightly as if this moment was the last we would get. Time stopped for who knows how long. Then she let go and said "good luck" and gave me her bright dimpled smile then she ran with the rest of the team. I smiled I ran to the front to catch up with the team.

Everyone followed the military tanks. Down the highway into our battle ground, Downtown. The leaders tanks were slowly rolling down the highway. I heard Hulk's voice through the earpiece,

"Bring it on bitches!"
