The Years After

Chapter 22

        We arrived at the Warehouse about 30 minutes later, there was more people than expected. It was smoggy inside the Warehouse, typical because when the spring rains came, water entered through the cracks and then the summer heat condensed the water into a natural spa. 

        "I reunited all of you here to say that we have new recruits and new battle equipment, new millitary hovercrafts, helicopters and tanks, new guns, and ammo." Mark said.

        "They are located in an abandoned storage site 20 miles north of the Warehouse, and on the site we plan to set a hub for our Rebel use, something like a technology station where we make decisions and control the war against the leader." Amanda said.

        "So you guys are going to track us?" A man asked, confused.

        "Sort of, but the site is secret, only selected leaders will know the location and we will not control you or anything, we are just using it for your safety, and this process is completely secure, you are not in danger. We wil use your iChips to track you guys and monitor your body, nothing new is going inside your body." Mark explained. "Trust us please."         

        "For the next two weeks, your team leader will set a meeting to meet at the Hub, there we will test your abilities and activate your iChip into our system." Amanda explained.

        "Victory and Desire." all of us chanted in unison.

        I walked with my cousins to their homes, Bryan agreed to let me spend the night in his house. We left Diana at her house and us boys and Julissa and Nicole walked to the East Side of the worker sector, Nicole will be staying with Julissa and Hunter with his friends. We were walking to the Worker's Plaza, where most workers set up a business where they sell their "stuff" for some extra money or an exchange of objects. Then they appeared, the Leader and some of his "soldiers" he was holding a girl, she was holding a basket of wild apples, she was about five feet 4 inches, creamy brown skinned, and long, dark straight flowing hair, she had fury in her dark brown eyes, it was fire, she is a supernatural.

        The guards grabbed the girl by her arms and threw her to the floor, she landed with a grunt and tried to flee, but the guards grabbed her waist and pulled her back. "Let me go! I was just picking apples for god's sake!" the girl cried furiously.

        "Calm down! Don't resist what you have been doing is illegal." One of the guards said. The girl got an apple and threw it at the guards, then threw another at the Leader. The guard pulled out a taser and a whip.

        "Go on whip me just because I was trying to feed my family, go on whip me, and then call yourself a man, come on! I'm waiting!" The rebel girl said. The guard then raised the whip and the girl couched down.

        "Stop! Don't you dare touch one hair on her skin." I demanded the guard and everyone rounded in the Plaza looked at me, eyes wide in shock. I approached the girl and positioned myself in between the girl, the taser and the whip. The guard raised the whip and was about to hit me when, the Leader said,

        "Stop! It's the Mayor's son, wow so brave! Why are you in between these people?" He teasingly asked.

       "None of you're business. Why are you harassing my people? Huh?" I asked rudely. Hulk then came in and tried to pull me out of the problem and let the Leader do his job, but I wasn't going to let that happen.
   
     "Wow such sass." the Leader chuckled, "and I guess it's my job to harass." I saw him with rage, I wanted to set him on fire on the spot. He then signaled his puppets and they boarded their tanks and left without saying anything.

      "I'm Carlos, this is Hulk, Hunter, Alex, Bryan and my girlfriend Nicole." I introduced all of us.

     "Nice to meet you guys, I am Kay." She smiled at us.

    "That's a really nice name. Just like you." Bryan flirted, and Kay blushed.
 
    "You should really stay out of trouble, since the start of the war those vultures have been everywhere." Hunter said.

        "Are you okay?" Nicole asked.

        "Yes, I am, thank you" Kay replied.

        "Why did you get in trouble for" I asked Kay.

        "I was in the Forbids picking fruits when he was passing by with his tanks, I spotted him and ran as fast as I could, but his soldiers catched me. I tried stabbing them with my dull knife, but whoops they had guns, so I started throwing fruits at them, and they stopped me and brought me here." Kay explained.

        "Wow, you're such a badass!" Bryan excalimed.

        "Well we invite you to my cousins house, she's not here but she lived in the last house on the West Sector, by a lake. We always meet there and discuss rebel stuff." I told Kay.

        "I'll see you guys there." Kay said and waved goodbye. She picked up her basket of apples and strolled to her house.

        "I'll take you to your house!" Bryan exclaimed and Kay nodded, then they both walked to Kay's house. Bryan looked back and I mouthed Go get them tiger to him and he winked and dissapeared in the crowd of people and left.
