Peace as it seemed... was never meant to last long.
A soft hum began to rise from Sting's body.
Faint at first, but then stronger.
Brighter.
Glowing cracks of light shimmered along his skin as his Dragon Slayer magic pulsing out of control.
"Sting?" Vyra stirred, blinking
Though he didn't respond, he only clenched his jaw as the glow intensified, energy pulsing from his chest like a heartbeat.
"Sting? What's going on!?" Her breath hitched
He opened his eyes finally and they started glowing.
No. No no no.
Vyra scrambled upright, reaching for him as his body began to lift slightly off the ground.
"STING!"
She grabbed onto him, arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders, anchoring herself to his body with everything she had.
But the magic didn't stop.
In a blinding flash, they vanished.

"And now, the final step of dragon slaying begins." Acnologia's voice echoed
"What does he mean by final step?" Erza asked, shielding her eyes as the sky twisted open with blinding light
Wendy was pulled into the vortex, her scream lost in the swirl of magic as something else came hurtling through the tear.
A streak of gold and blue shot from the sky.
"Vyra?!?" Erza retorted as the girl splashed into the water
A moment later, the moonlight mage resurfaced, her arms thrashing violently as she choked on seawater.
"Someone help her!" Hibiki shouted from the behind
Before anyone could move, Jellal had already took action.
He reached her quite fast, but the moment Vyra saw his face pure panic surged though her veins.
"N-No!" she shrieked
She thrashed harder, twisting in his grip.
"Stay away from me!!"
"LET GO OF ME!" she sobbed, kicking wildly, slipping beneath the water for a terrifying second
"Vyra-" he gasped, catching one of her wrists as she surfaced again, gasping, coughing up water
"I said LET GO!"
Her thrashing was frantic, almost violent. She clawed at him, desperate to get away eyes wide and wild with fear.
Jellal didn't flinch. He took every strike.
Every kick. Every word like a knife to the chest.
"Vyra, please-" he breathed, tightening his grip as he fought to keep them both afloat.
"I never meant to be the reason you're scared."
That made her freeze.
Her thrashing slowed if only for a second.
"It's okay now. Everything is okay."
Holding her float, he met her eyes.
"I'm not him anymore." he pulled her into an embrace in the water
