AUTHOR'S POV
Hoseok froze.
His hands were still holding Mr. Min's body. His breath hitched, and for a second, it felt like time had stopped. His heartbeat was so loud, it echoed in his ears. His chest felt heavy-like someone had put a stone on it. But then his eyes fell on Mr. Min's face. Pale. Eyes closed. Not moving.
He snapped out of it.
"No... No, no, no-Uncle, please," he whispered, his voice trembling, panic rising in his throat. "Please hold on..."
Without thinking anymore, Hoseok moved. Fast. He knelt beside the older man and, with all the strength he had, he carefully lifted him.
It wasn't easy.
Mr. Min wasn't small. His body was heavy and limp, and Hoseok's arms were already shaking. His palms were slippery with sweat. His whole body screamed in pain, but he didn't stop. He couldn't stop. There was no time to call for help.
"Just hang in there... I'm here... I'll take you," he muttered while dragging Mr. Min toward the door.
His legs felt weak, like jelly, but still he didn't stop.
Step by step.
His breath got heavier. His back was hurting. But he didn't care.
After what felt like forever, he reached the car. He opened the back seat and gently, carefully, placed Mr. Min inside.
In that rush, his phone slipped from his pocket. It hit the floor near the stairs.
But Hoseok didn't even realize.
He was too scared. Too focused.
He jumped into the driver's seat, started the car, and sped off.
"Please be okay... please..." he whispered again, looking at the mirror to check if Mr. Min was still breathing.
The road felt endless. But he didn't slow down. He didn't blink. Every second counted.
When he reached the hospital, he slammed the car door and shouted as he ran toward the entrance.
"HELP!! SOMEONE PLEASE!! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!! HE'S NOT BREATHING RIGHT!"
A nurse saw him and rushed inside to call others. In seconds, two nurses and one doctor came out with a stretcher.
"Back seat!" Hoseok yelled, already guiding them.
They opened the door, pulled Mr. Min out, and carefully laid him on the stretcher. Oxygen was already being placed.
