Denise left that room with a reality check but no closure. Cynthia was every bit of sick as her friends said she was. She wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, to understand the mentality behind what she did and why she did it.
Before even visiting her, Cynthia admitted to all the killings in the school and how she had planned them. How Dr. Anu got involved and how Tife funded it. She had been carrying out the killings single-handedly until one might she was contacted, told that there was a way money could be involved. She did not have to be alone in her quest and search for revenge anymore.
The deal was too good to be true so she refused. She took her time to strategise and make another attempt, when it failed she was contacted again, this time with juicer offers, one she could not refute. All she had to do was follow a few directions and she would have it all.
The more disasters that happened, the more likely blame would fall on somebody. Who was the most vulnerable? Electra, not only because she was the principal and in charge of the school but also because the death of her child would devastate her. It did. Guess who was recommended on the list of potential principals by none other than Dr. Anu.
And who recommended him? William Wilfred was urged by his girlfriend. It all played so perfectly for them until it did not. Until Cynthia started going after the people they did not care for. People like Denise.
In truth, she did not care for Denise but it was the principle of her job. How could she let another girl turn into another monster? She wanted her out of the way. It was better for her to be dead than for her to turn to the monsters who caused the suicide of her cousin.
It did not make sense to Denise though, who was Cynthia's cousin and why was she so passionate about her death? What did Bellrich do? There had been so much death and violence in the school for the past few months that Denise was practically desensitised. It was scary though. Sitting with the truth was so painful, nobody could fully understand the betrayal she felt.
"Are you sure you are alright?" Goke queried looking away from the road.
Denise glanced at him and nodded before looking away. Daniella sat together with Vivanne at the back sit watching the road as Goke took them to the Arabowale's house.
School was closed and the chaos was building up. Each of their heads is a mess. The chaos Cynthia and her accomplices had created could not just be cleaned off because they had found out the truth, and finding out the truth was the easy part. It was left for them to pick their pieces back up and deal with everything else.
The fact that they might not return to Bellrich Academy, the media frenzy and what people were saying about them online and offline, Zeet anonymous, their parents, everything was just piling on them.
Goke could feel Denise slipping, The truth was supposed to bring them closure, bring them peace and reassurance but it just opened a can of worms, exposed the truth they were too afraid to really say.
Everyone thought that Lagos elite kids' lives were perfect, I mean who wouldn't want to have it all? The wealth, the fame, the class. They did not have to worry about when their next meals would come from. But with whatever money they had, they were still dropping like flies at the hands of a killer bent on running them.
"Call Colton and Caleb up, tell them to meet us at the meter," Goke commanded.
Vivanne blinked and frowned, "I thought you were taking us home?" she questioned.
"Just call them Ella, tell them to meet us there."

Caleb and Colton pulled up twenty minutes after Goke and the group reached there. Goke had suggested a meter because it was by the seaside.
