"Kids." Detective Wale walked out of the room where their parent had been for one hour. "Your parents want to see you."
Soon after, the children walked into the small longue, which was now a stuffy room. The adults gathered around, trying to wrap their heads around what they had just found out.
"Please sit," Wale stated. They filed out and sank into the chair.
"So we searched your private lounge and found evidence that you knew about the killer on campus."
The group looked up and looked around the room, realising that their parents knew too. Noami shook her head, hoping that it was untrue, that those children did not know that they were killed on campus.
"Caleb..." Noami slowly called. Caleb blinked and swallowed, his eyes trained on the floor, There was no need to lie now. "You knew too? And you did not tell me?" Naomi muttered.
"Are you going to continue keeping quiet or will you tell us the truth? Did you know about the killer? Someone was after you? Eh Caleb? Answer me!"
Caleb slowly nodded, knowing his mother. "Eh! God this boy has killed me! So you knew! Caleb, how could you keep such a thing from me? How?"
"Ma, it is not like that," Goke interjected.
"How is it then?! You these children have killed me! How could one keep such from us? What did you think you were doing?"
"What was running through your mind when you hid all of this from us?" Shettima signalled at the files on the desk.
Denise and Daniella glanced at each other, and they turned back to their father, having no real answer for him.
"I cannot believe that there was a killer on your campus after your lives and you did not bother to inform us? I just want to know how you thought you could handle it?"
"We did... we didn't know at first, we realised the day, Denise and Goke were attacked." Daniella decided to break the silence.
Shettima thought back to the night he banned Denise from ever seeing Goke, it made sense why she was so mad at him.
"Ashley tried to warn Vivanne and me at Martha's funeral but we did not believe her, until more attacks, we could not deny it anymore." Daniella finished.
"Ashley knew too?" Precious Irele, had been called after what happened, together with her husband Wisdom.
"Not exactly but she was sure Martha would never have done that. Martha was selfish but not stupid, it felt odd, her death." Daniella looked away, unable to look at the weeping woman's eyes. "We did not believe her. Who would? It just did not make sense, but after Goke confirmed the attack on the night Armstrong and Bishop were killed we knew it was the truth."
"Oh my God." Precious broke down I'm her husband's arms, unable to console herself, her grief. She had spent months wondering what she had done wrong, where she had gone wrong in raising Martha. Why would Martha take her own life instead of coming to her? The tears flowed as her body shook in a painful sob.
Denise squeezed her body together, she had been crying for not quite long about the betrayal she felt, the pain from realising that Cynthia was not who she said she was and having to deal with it.
"Tell us more, we need to know everything." Detective Wale urged them.
He glanced at Electra who was sitting like a statue at the end of the room, away from them. Wondering if this whole charade was the truth and her child did not just die of a drug overdose and accidental suicide.
