The sun shining through my sheer purple and blue curtains wakes me up out of my foggy sleep. I squint my eyes trying to see the time on my phone. I sigh in relief. Thank god it's only seven in the morning. I have time to take a shower and do my hair and makeup. I normally barely have enough time to put on some concealer and throw some clothes on before I must rush out the door.

I gingerly crawl out of bed, being careful of the now very pronounced bruises on my upper arms and my right side. I make a mental note to take a decent size dosage of pain killers to help with the pain and swelling.

Shedding my pajamas bottoms and tank top, I pad into my bathroom. I happen to be lucky enough to have my bathroom attached to my bedroom. I turn the water on and hop in. The hot water raining down feels amazing against my sore muscles and bruises.

I let myself enjoy the relaxing feeling for a few moments before I grab my shampoo and start to lather up my hair. I finish up and shut the water off with one hand while grabbing my big fluffy white towel with my other.

I wrap myself tight and open my bathroom door letting all the steam out into my bedroom. I walk inside my overly large walk-in closet and begin the process of getting dressed. This proved to be more of a challenge with the deep bruises to my upper arms. I could barely lift my arms above my head.

I give up on trying to put my jeans on and just settle on a pair of grey Nike running shorts. I stand in front of my overly large selection of tank tops and t-shirts wearing the sports bra I had managed to get on with my sore arms. I settle on just a light sky-blue cotton tank top. I figure the bruises could just be covered up with my concealer. After all it works on my face well, why not the spots on my upper arms? I run my hands through my curly wet hair in frustration. Oh no, even in my own head that sounds weird, but I guess if it works it works.

I finish applying concealer to all the bruises that are visible, i.e., the one on the side of my face and my arms and throw my hair up in a messy bun. I grab my lace hair band to top off the outfit. I check myself in my floor length mirror and give myself a mental thumbs up. No bruises in sight. About as good as it is going to get, I would say.

I grab my keys and slip my phone into my pocket (after setting it to vibrate of course, can't have it going off in school). I head downstairs and slip my feet into my Nike running shoes and grab an apple on my way out to my car.

I slide into the driver's seat of my silver eclipse convertible. A.K.A. my baby. I worked hard when I turned 16 years old to pay for this beauty. I glance over into my passenger seat and notice my backpack.

CRAP!!!! I face palm myself.

I totally forgot about my mountain of homework after the events of last night. Looks like I will be in the library during lunch today. I grumble to myself the entire drive to school.

The drive is not too bad, a whole whopping 10 minutes from the house. I pull into my signature parking space and turn my car off. I get out and walk around my car putting my keys in pocket with my phone. I open my passenger door to attempt to pick up my overly stuffed backpack.

"Oh damn!" I groan as I go to pick it up. I glare at the dead weight. I roll my shoulders and wince at the weight. I set the bag back into the seat. "Yeah, you can just stay there for today."

I grab my essential notebook and a few pens out my pencil case. I shove the pens into my other pocket and close my car door. I walk into school and head towards the commons area in hopes of finding Kayla.

I stop short however as I notice who Kayla is sitting with.

Brandon.

and Zach.
