Chapter 17

*Moon POV*

   "How could you betray your coven, we are your family, it seems you know nothing of loyalty!" Ezra yelled. As our family watched the battle. 

"It seems you ancients no nothing about life at all, you are so stuck in the past, that it has got you completely lost! Honestly if I have to go out, find a human, fall in love and have to die for it... then I will. I would rather die in love and with freedom then be stuck and closed off. I was hating life ever since Julian passed and when I found Hunter I felt I could breathe again. I was happy. I am happy. If I have to die for happiness then so be it." I said. 

 Ezra grabbed my neck. "Put her down!" Artis said walking into the room. 

Ezra dropped me.

"No need to be violent, practice some civilization," Artis said. "So Moon, why shall we save you or your human friend?" he asked. I sighed. 

"He's not guilty of anything to be a prisoner, if anything I am the only one that should be tied up and sentenced," I admitted. 

"Moon! How could you do this to your family, betray us, you disobeyed us, your coven, you know he has to die!" Ember said. I looked at her angrily.

 "I owe him my life, he saved me!" I shouted. Artis raised his hand, and everyone went silent. "Saved you how?" he asked. I looked into his eyes, so he knew I wasn't lying.

"I was walking home, and two men came after me, I pushed one guy away and the other grabbed my neck, but he, Hunter came and helped me," I confessed. "You know humans are not supposed to know about us," Ember said. 

"I know, but think about it, humans already kind of know we exist through movies, television shows, and books. It's not like they don't know what we are, what we do, and how come we can't choose who we want to be with, Ember when you first met Logan you were human and you loved him, you loved him from the heart didn't you? Logan was a vampire, and he loved you so much that he saved you and changed you. Tristan and Virgo, and other mates, all feel something for one another, and I feel something for Hunter. I never even felt it with Kalen; I don't know if this is exactly how love feels. But if it is, I can admit, that I love him." I said. 

"Your coven should have never let you roam around by yourself! Do you hear yourself Moon? I can't even believe we are listening to a young vampire with no sense. If you want to be with Hunter, and you want love and freedom, fine, have it all, but you will be really dead and have it all!" Ezra snarled.

 "You are not the only one to sentence anyone in a coven," Artis said... 

"The rest of the elders and I will discuss the situation in private, but do not be surprised if your sentenced is death at dawn." Ezra said frustrated. 

I put my head down, and tried not to cry or show any anger.

I was brought back into my room and chained while the elders deliberated.

I saw that it was 4am and sighed. 

 It was only two hours until both Hunter and my fate were sealed.
