Running into boys

I am standing on the grass looking at my feet. I look up and make direct eye contact with Mike who is standing on the opposite side of the quadrangle. We both ready our positions, I curl my fists and don't break eye contact.

"Go!" Mike Yells from across the grass between us.

We both start sprinting towards each other at full speed, looking like drunk rhinos.

As we draw close I brace myself for the impact and we smash into each other. The impact sends me flying. Mike wobbles but manages to keep his footing as I land hard on my butt.

Laughter erupts from the students that just witnessed the ridiculous experiment Mike and I just conducted.

I dust myself off laughing hysterically and take Mikes hand as he pulls me up.

Kiely and Meghan stroll over.

"You two are something special...." She shakes her head laughing.

"I told you that's what would happen!!!" Mike teases.

"Shut up I almost had you over! I answer plea fully.

Mike had made me a bet that if two forces ran into each other at equal speeds one would crumble under the impact, and of course I thought that if the two forces were going at equal speed they would either both balance to stay up, or both crumble. So we put it to the test during lunch.

The bell rings and the crowd of students start to file off to class.

As I make my way to my locker, a few girls who are crushing on Mike make it a point to death stare me. Instead of returning their stares I smile at them and twirl around to show off all my angles.

"Don't worry, I am here all year ladies..." I say sarcastically

The girls roll their eyes and continue whispering about me, which doesn't bother me.

People are going to talk about me no matter what I do, so I give them something to talk about.

I grab my books out of my locker and go to home ec for the last periods of the day.

I take a seat next to my friend Marcus and open my assignment book.

"Have you done milestone two Liv?" Marcus asks looking at my book.

I nod and flip through the three pages I have recorded my research for milestone two.

Marcus widens his eyes and quickly turns back to his blank book and starts writing.
Milestone two is due today.

I laugh and put my ear phones in. Turning my music up loud enough to block all other noise out.

I am just finishing milestone three of my research paper when Marcus taps me on the shoulder.

I look at him and see he is trying to speak to me so I take out my earphones.

"What?" I ask him.

"I said, what are you doing on the weekend." Marcus repeats himself.

I think for a minute then remember what my plans are.

"I am chilling at home Saturday after I finish riding then Sunday I have church and then I am working in the afternoon. Why?" I answer.

Marcus turns his iPad around so that I can see what is on the screen. The screen shows movie times for fantastic four on the weekend that Marcus had mentioned he wanted to see.
