~~Dylan's P.O.V~~
"Good times today Dylan." Charles fist bumps me as I climb out of the pool.
"Thanks mate, I am still lagging in my backstroke though." I reply grabbing my towel and rubbing it fast over my hair and then drying the rest of my body.
I grab my bag and head to the showers. On the way I grab my phone out of my bag and my heart leaps when Liv's name flashes on the screen.
Liv: Come see me then..
I Immediately zip my phone back up in my bag and rush to the showers. I chuck my stuff down and jump in to the first free shower and have the quickest shower of my life. I didn't even wait for the hot water to start.
I finish showering and quickly change into my clothes and put my shoes on, then grab my bag and run out the pool centre to my car.
I race up to the ute and chuck my stuff in the tray of the truck and hop in the drivers seat and start the engine.
Liv hadn't spoken to me since the hospital, which was understandable given her circumstances, but I just can't get her off my mind. There's something special about her, I know it.
As I turn off the freeway only a few kilometres over the speed limit, my heart rate exceeds as I realise I am getting closer to seeing the girl that has turned my world upside down. I turn onto our street and speed down the road when I see no on coming traffic.
I pull up out the front of her house and switch my car off, hopping out and with my heart pounding, I jog up to the door.
I knock once and when there is no answer I knock again.
As time ticks over and there is still no answer I place my hand on the door handle and discover it is locked. She must not be home.
Disappointed, I turn around and start to slump back to my truck. As I open the door a horses whinny causes me to look up.
I squint my eyes to try and see past the glare of the sunset into the tall grass field. When my eyes adjust I watch a beautiful site of a girl and horse galloping across the field, oblivious to my watching eyes. The part that takes my breathe away is Liv laughing and smiling up at the sky whilst her horse gallops freely beneath her.
I feel a lump rise in my throat as she grows closer. Liv trots straight pass me on her horse and swings herself off the horses back and opens the gate to her paddock. She takes the horses bridle off and stands watching her gallop away to join with the other horse in the paddock.
I clear my throat and walk behind her and in a croaky voice whisper,
"Hey Liv."Liv turns around wide eyes with her arms folded across her chest, relaxing when she sees its only me.
I shift on the spot not knowing what to say and praying that Liv ends the silence between us.
As if God answers my prayers Liv rushes up to me and I wrap my arms around her tight. She nestles her head into the crevice of my neck which makes me inhale the sweet cinnamon scent of her hair.
We stand there for seconds which turn into minutes. After a while Liv pulls away and wipes the tears flowing down her cheeks with her hand, avoiding I contact with me and staring at the ground.
"Come on let's get out of here." I say slipping my hand into hers.
Liv looks up at me with her sparkling blue eyes and smiles, following me to my truck where we hop in and drive a few seconds up the road to my Aunty's house.
Liv hops out of the truck and follows me inside with her hands crossed over her chest.
"Nice house." Liv adds on entry.
"Thanks, we have it to ourselves for the next hour, my aunt doesn't get home until then." I smile trying not to smirk.
Liv nods and I lead her to the couch where she sits crossed legged next to me.
"I am sorry I didn't call or text you back." Liv says a few moment later, looking down into her lap and frowning.
"I understand." I mutter.
"I just didn't want to talk to anyone. They all would say the exact same thing. 'So sorry for your loss Liv, deepest sympathy' blah blah blah." Liv begins, looking up and rolling her eyes.
"But no one will ever understand how empty I feel. He just dropped dead one day when he was perfectly healthy! Without warning left us to fend for ourselves! I hate him! I hate him for not saying goodbye." Liv's exclaims with her voice shaking and tears forming in her eyes.
"He couldn't control it Liv! I know it feels like the end of the world right now but.." I begin before Liv cuts me off.
"It's not the end of the world! It's the end of my world Dylan! I see him in everything I do. Everything I touch, feel and everything I love, he is always there!" Liv says now yelling standing up to leave.
"Liv don't shut me out, please." I beg, snatching her hand on her way to the door and twirling her towards me.
"Why shouldn't I, you can't bring him back. No one can ever give me the love and comfort my dad gave me." Liv mumbles biting down on her jaw.
This frustrates me. Without warning I lunge towards her and before she can protest I softly grab her chin in my hands and press my lip against hers.
We stand for a few long seconds in the moment until I pull away softly."I will if you let me." I whisper.
AUTHORS NOTE: Ahh finally they kissed! I was holding back on this chapter as I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to conduct the whole kissing scene but I think this worked out ok? The next chapter is just a continuation of this day in Liv's point of view. Thanks for reading guys please comment any suggestions you have! Love Tylah 💘
