Ishan was holding Vayu so gently, like he was a bubble, delicate, soft, and glowing with sunshine.

A bubble that somehow managed to bring light into Ishan’s otherwise dull and faded life.

His hold was careful, tender, yet firm and protective, as if Vayu was a breeze, warm, comforting, filled with love.

A breeze so gentle and pure that if Ishan loosened his grip even slightly, it would slip away from him. Float far away, out of reach.

Vayu's words had made Ishan’s heart stop for a few seconds before it began beating faster, harder.

It wasn’t that no one had ever said kind things to Ishan before, many had. But those words were never true. Never warm. Never soft.

They lacked the sincerity that comes with love without conditions. There had always been something behind them, hidden reasons, expectations, something selfish.

But not here. Not now.

The reason behind Vayu’s words was pure. Without a single shadow of doubt or intention.

Just a child’s honest heart.

And those simple, small words… they meant everything to Ishan.

So much that he hugged Vayu tightly, his arms wrapped around the little boy with more emotion than he could put into words.

He pressed soft kisses to both of Vayu’s cheeks, gently, as if the boy might disappear if he wasn’t careful.

"Don't do this to me, Vayu." Ishan muttered softly to himself, his voice low and almost trembling.

To Ishan, he wasn’t someone worthy of this much love.

He believed he wasn’t built to receive something so warm, so pure.

And if someone tried to give it to him, truly give it, he feared he’d become addicted to it. That kind of love, once tasted, would ruin him.

Because everyone who had ever been with Ishan eventually left. And he was always the one left behind, alone again, empty.

And now… now Vayu, with all his sunshine and softness, was warming Ishan’s life, his heart, his very soul.

It felt too much. Because if this went any further, if he got a little more of this love, Ishan knew he wouldn’t be able to walk away.

He wouldn’t be able to let go.

"You buy Vayu yumiesh?" Vayu asked in a small voice, looking up at Ishan with big, round eyes and a tiny pout on his lips.

(Will you buy Vayu the candies?)

Ishan looked down at him and chuckled softly.

"Baby wants yummies?" He asked gently, tickling Vayu’s little belly.

"Yesh." Vayu giggled, his whole face lighting up with that sunshine filled, gummy baby smile.

He nodded eagerly.
