The day had finally arrived. Ishan, bouncing with excitement, stood in front of the brightly colored escape room venue. The sign read "The Great Heist" and he could hardly contain his enthusiasm.
"Guys, this is going to be epic!" he exclaimed, practically vibrating with energy. Shubman, leaning casually against the wall, raised an eyebrow.
"Epic? More like a disaster waiting to happen" he teased, crossing his arms with a smirk.
"Come on, you're just jealous of my enthusiasm!" Ishan shot back, playfully shoving Shubman.
"Jealous? Of what? Your ability to make a fool of yourself? I'm not sure whether to applaud or call for backup." Shubman replied, a grin spreading across his face.
"Whatever, let's just get inside before I change my mind." Ishan said, dragging Shubman along with him.
As they entered, the escape room host launched into an overly dramatic introduction about their mission to steal back priceless artifacts from a fictional villain. Ishan was captivated; Shubman, however, looked ready to roll his eyes right out of his head.
"Can you believe we're actually doing this?" Ishan whispered to Shubman, who leaned against the wall, smirking.
"Yeah, I can. You're the one who insisted on this, remember? 'It'll be fun!' you said." Shubman replied, mocking Ishan's enthusiastic tone.
"Let's just focus on escaping!" Ishan said, his eyes sparkling with determination.
Once inside the room, the atmosphere was thick with mystery and suspense. The walls were adorned with fake paintings, locked boxes, and a giant clock counting down from sixty minutes. Ishan felt like a detective on a mission.
"Okay, let's do this!" he declared, puffing out his chest.
Tilak, the self-appointed leader, immediately jumped in, "I've got this! That riddle on the wall looks easy." He pointed to a puzzle that was clearly not what they needed to focus on.
Shubman rolled his eyes. "Are we seriously going to trust the guy who can't even find his way out of a bathroom?"
"I found it eventually!" Tilak protested, indignant.
"Right, after sending an SOS to the entire team." Abhishek added, chuckling. "We'll call you if we need directions."
The first puzzle involved a series of locks and keys, and Ishan dove in with gusto. "Okay, team! We need to work together!"
"Team? More like a circus act!" Shubman quipped, watching as Mayank accidentally dropped a key and it rolled under a shelf.
"Oops! I'll get it!" Mayank yelled, diving down and emerging with a dust bunny stuck to his face. "I think I found a clue!" he said, holding it up triumphantly.
"Great job, Sherlock!" Shubman said sarcastically, causing Ishan to snort with laughter.
"Focus, guys!" Nehal shouted, trying to regain control. "We're running out of time!"
Just then, Ishan found a clue hidden behind a painting. "Look! I found something!" he shouted, excitement bubbling over.
As he reached for the clue, Shubman leaned in closer, their shoulders brushing together. "You're always so observant." Shubman said, a playful smile on his face.
"Thanks! I just..." Ishan paused, meeting Shubman's gaze. For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Then, with a nervous laugh, Ishan added, "I'm just really good at looking for trouble."
Shubman laughed, breaking the moment. "Well, you've found it. You're surrounded by idiots," he said, waving at the group as they bumbled around.
Just then, Tilak shouted, "I've solved it!" He confidently entered a code into the lock, only for it to buzz loudly, indicating failure.
