It was the weekend evening, and the doorbell rang, signaling someone was at the entrance. Soo-min and the rest of the group had arrived, and they settled down comfortably in the hall. Jimin asked curious about my healing process.
As everyone's attention was fixed on me, my gaze remained fixed on Taehyung. I watched him quietly, my eyes drinking in every detail of his face. He was always looking at me, his gaze never leaving me even for a moment. And when I looked into his eyes, I felt a strange kind of connection, as if there was something between us that had been there from the very beginning.
She observed him closely, and he looked every bit the part of a CEO - sophisticated, composed, and confident. However, Isabella's eyes narrowed with a hint of suspicion, as if something about his presence didn't sit right with her. Her thoughts raced, questioning his place in her world. She pondered silently, 'He shouldn't be here...not in this realm, not with someone like me. He is untarnished, free from bloodshed. Clean.'
She looked at him...he looked like any CEO. But Isabella's eyes narrow, her mind isn't at rest. He shouldn't be here. Not in this world. NOT WITH SOMEONE LIKE HER. He is clean. Out of blood. Out of war.
She couldn't deny the pull he had over her, the way her heart ached for him. But in her mind, love was a liability, a weakness that would only expose her vulnerabilities and make her more susceptible to danger. She hated herself for feeling this way, for wanting him in her life when he was so pure and naive, ignorant to the chaos of her world.
Or...or maybe...they can hurt him. The thought of him getting hurt chilled her to the bone, her heart clenching as if the very air had been snatched from her lungs. She found her gaze lingering on him longer than necessary, her heart racing with a mixture of fear and protectiveness. She couldn't bear the idea of him being a target, knowing the danger that her world posed to his innocence and purity.
The longer she watched him, the more her heart raced, torn between wanting to cherish him and protect him from the darkness that always surrounded her.
Taehyung noticed her troubled expression across the room and quickly got up, moving swiftly to her side. He knelt down in front of her and held her hand, concern etched on his face as he asked urgently, "Bella, are you okay? What happened?" His voice laced with worry, his eyes filled with concern as he gently yet firmly grasped her hand in his own.
She gripped his hand tightly, her gaze fixed on him, her mind a whirlwind of emotions too powerful to express. Taehyung, ever perceptive, noticed her struggle to speak and gently assured her, his voice soft and reassuring, "I'm here with you. You're not alone." His words were as soothing as a warm embrace, and she found solace in his presence.
As she felt herself becoming calmer, she was somewhat surprised at how easily he had noticed her distress. She wondered if her feelings were that visibly obvious. Others gathered around her, asking with concern, "Isabella, what happened?"
She quickly snapped back to reality and replied, "It's nothing." Max, observant as ever, chimed in, asking curiously, "But then why is Taehyung so worried?"
She looked at Taehyung, her words tinged with a slight stutter as she responded, "I-I don't know." Taehyung intervened, his voice firm and confident as he answered for her, "Because I felt that something was bothering her."
Her gaze lingered on him, her heart yearning to embrace him at his words. She forced a smile and reassured him, "I'm okay, Taehyung."
The day came when her plasters were removed, and she was able to walk again after months of recovery. She carefully stood up, her legs a little weak from disuse. Although her physical therapy wasn't fully complete, she eagerly took her first tentative steps.
