Taehyung jumped out of the car fast- faster than anyone had ever seen him move.
Long strides carried him across the pavement, his polished shoes clicking sharply against marble as he chased after her.
Employees were already arriving, turning heads as they saw their CEO rushing through the lobby like something was very wrong.
He caught up to Isabella just before she reached the elevator bank- grabbing her wrist gently but firmly.
"Isabella," he said, voice low and urgent now- not cold or distant anymore. "Wait."
She whipped around.
Her eyes burned with anger- and in that moment? They weren't soft for him at all.
"Leave."
The word came out icy- sharp as glass, cutting through the air between them.
Isabella yanked her wrist from his grip like his touch burned. Her face was a mask of cold fury-the kind that made even Taehyung's breath hitch.
He didn't move right away. Just stood there, stunned for half a second by how far she had shut him out in seconds.
Taehyung stormed into Isabella's office the second he stepped off the elevator.
The door swung open with a sharp crack against the wall—but she wasn't there.
Her desk was neat. Computer dark. No coffee, no bag, nothing to show she'd even been in today.
He turned around slowly—scanning every corner of her private office.
And silence.
Heavy.
Like an absence carved right through his chest.
Taehyung stood in the middle of Isabella's empty office, his chest tightening with each passing second.
He turned slowly—one last time—as if hoping she might magically appear behind her desk or step out from a hidden corner. But no. Just silence and stillness.
Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and dialed Soo-min to ask about Isabella's schedule down to the minute.
The line connected quickly.
"Soo-min," Taehyung said—"Where is Isabella?"
A pause on the other end.
Then Soo-min replied calmly:
"She's in Meeting Room 3B right now. Has back-to-back meetings all morning."
Taehyung checked his watch.
It was well past the time her first meeting should've ended—over two hours had passed since they arrived at the office. The back-to-back schedule meant she would've been out by now, or at least between sessions for a break.
He walked briskly through the hallway toward Meeting Room 3B, his steps quiet but purposeful. Employees instinctively stepped aside as he approached—the air around him thick with tension even if he said nothing.
When Taehyung reached the room, it was silent on this side of the door. No voices came from inside anymore; no rustling papers or murmured discussions that usually signaled a wrap-up in progress.
Taehyung stood rigid by the meeting room door, his dark eyes fixed on the exit—waiting for her to walk out.
Employees began filing out one by one. Managers, executives from other departments... all leaving calmly after a long discussion.
He scanned each face as they emerged.
No Isabella.
His chest tightened slightly—but he didn't react outwardly. Just kept staring into the empty doorway as she might magically appear.
