               Chapter One

Aspasia Everwood

“Jada. Jada. Jada. Jada! JADA! Last morning you have to hear me yelling at you!” I shook Jada awake from her coffin, walked into the kitchen and grabbed a breakfast burrito.

“Goodbye fast food,” Cruise said, smiling his huge smile.

“Goodbye motion sickness,” I smiled, feeling the tears come to my eyes, “until next time, of course.”

I sat on the couch for the last morning I would this summer. I couldn’t believe tour happened so fast. It seemed like since that day in St. Louis, concerts just flew by, and nothing changed. Joey and Jada had their secret relationship, and Jada was becoming best friends with Nick day by day. They were at a hundred percent friends by now. No harm, no hurt feelings. We were all just goofing off and rocking out every day. In my book, everything was perfect. But I didn’t know that day—that last concert in West Palm Beach—would hurt Radio Peace forever.

I sat by Castello and turned on the morning news.

“It is a scorching hot 99 degree day out in West Palm Beach as all the tweens and teens in this world await the wrap up of the Jonas Brother tour, with special guests, Radio Peace. This will not only finish up there tour, being there last show, but it will also be like a goodbye to Summer for everybody here! Have fun everybody out there tonight—and be sure to keep extra hydrated! I am Mort Morison—with today’s weather report-ison!”

“’I’m Mort Morrison with today’s weather report-ison,” me and Cruise quoted.

Jada was already in the room, sitting close to Joey, her head practically on his shoulders, and their hands meeting under a pillow.

My aunt Kelly came into the room, “You guys are free to choose what you wear to today show—what you normally wear could be really uncomfortable in this weather.”

“Okay—oh Aunt Kelly! I forgot! We all got you a gift! You know—to thank you for our first album coming out next Saturday.”

“Oh really?” she came up to me, her eyebrow raised.

I revealed the cover to our album, and opened the flap (opposite of where the c.d. would be). There was the little blue bird, and the address to VegProject.org, “Surprise!”

“Oh you guys! I really love it,” she smiled, giving us all big hugs.

“But that’s not all,” Jada ran to her bunk and retrieved a small gold card, “here.”

“A Star Bucks card?” she smiled.

“We know how you like your coffee.”

“It’s for a hundred ten dollars,” Castello smiled up at my aunt, “we really appreciate your help this season. You’re really the best tour manager or manager we could ever have. Next season will bite without you.”

“It won’t have to,” she smiled, “I’m considering actually joining the next tour.”

“Aunt Kelly!” me and Jada jumped up and ambushed her with a hug.
