Jada Blue

Chapter Two

It was our last day in our tour bus. The last night, rather. We had spent our last days watching television and talking about the next tour (and, yeah, we didn’t have a final “yes” on our tour. But we had opened for the Jonas Brothers—that’s just good luck!).

“When I saw you over there, I didn’t mean to stare, but my mind was everywhere, I wanna know you,”

“This is going to be the last song we listen to on the ‘Spasia-pod all tour,” I smiled, and then tried not to shed a tear.

“Sit back and say to myself—well I thought so,” me and Aspasia sang together.

“Where has Joey been,” I mumbled to her in a low tone.

“He’s been sleeping in his bunk that past couple days,” she mumbled back, “don’t worry.”

“I don’t know, he’s been acting weird,” I wiped away a tear, “I hope it’s not like this next year.”

“It won’t be,” she said back, getting up and taking her iPod out of the dock set, and then putting it back in her bunk. Our bunks were so empty. Aspasia and I thought it would be really great idea to put letters to ourselves under the loose flaps in the wall, and then open them at the end of tour next season.

“Hey, you guys,” Joey came out into the loft, awkwardly standing at the edge of the kitchen.

“Why don’t you sit down,” Aspasia smiled, “we’re talking about bunk arrangements for next tour. And I know how much you hate top bunk.”

“No thanks, but can we talk about something?”

“Is it something you can’t talk about if you don’t sit down?” Cruise said, “listen to the lady, she’s being nice.”

“Oh I’m going to miss you always defending me,” Aspasia laughed, “Joey just sit down.”

“I can’t,” he yelled this time, and we all wiped the smiles off our faces, and we all shut up. My heart jumped so much I thought I could hear the bumpbumpboombumpbumpboom that had taken over my blood, “I need to talk about something with you guys.”

“What is it, Joey,” I asked in my calming, sweet voice, “you can talk to us about anything.”

“In…Chicago,” he looked at his shoes, “someone offered me a thirty-million record deal to join a band on Columbia records.”

“What idiots,” Castello laughed, “Radio Peace is like a commitment. I can’t believe Columbia is trying to pull us apart.”

“They’re just mad they didn’t sign us the first time,” Aspasia rolled her eyes, “they did the same with the Jonas Brothers.”

“I take that as a compliment,” Cruise laughed.

“I took the offer,” Joey said in a low voice.
