Aspasia Everwood
Chapter Eleven
Was I crazy to be angry with him?! No! I couldn’t be! He was…out of line! To say that! Ugh! Just thinking about it was giving me the chills. The band was unraveling. And this was only our first tour!
“Aspasia! I said I’m sorry!” and then the pounding on my thin door stopped. And it flew open. But thank goodness it wasn’t Cruise. It was Joey.
“That was a very interesting conversation we just had,” he said to me, pulling me out of my bunk and leading me to the loft. He sat on the couch and looked me strait in the eye, “Aspasia, I have to tell you something.”
“Oh god, you aren’t pregnant are you!” I was the only one laughing, and then I made my tone serious, “you aren’t pregnant, are you?!”
“No,” he hit me on the shoulder, “I’m a guy!”
“Oh! Don’t scare me! Please!”
“Aspasia, this is serious,”
“What what! Just tell me I want to go to sleep,”
“Aspasia, I like someone different then Tegan,”
“Shut up,” I wacked him on the shoulder with excitement. Gossip!
“And she’s on this bus,”
“Shut up!” I wacked him on the shoulder. Ah! That was not allowed!
“I like…” he lowered his voice, “Jada. I think.”
“SHUT UP!” this time, I full out pushed him back, “NO SIR!”
“Aspasia! A little help would help!”
“Sweetie! What about Castello!?”
“How did you know about Castello?”
“I overheard him and Vince the other day,” I rolled my eyes like it was no big, “now what about Castello?!”
“He told me yesterday he was over it, and over her,” he sighed, “and he said I could have her. He’s running after Tegan’s sister, Roxanne.”
“And Tegan?!”
“Broke up with her,”
“Joey—I—I don’t know what to tell you. She,” I sighed, I guess it was time to give it up, “she liked you. She was in love with you. For the longest time. But she doesn’t want to interfere with the band. She refuses to do that. And maybe she does still like you. Who knows? But I’d say…just for now…not to say anything. I’ll get an answer out of her.”
“Thanks, ‘Spasia, you’re the best,” he gave me a bear hug, “I’m going to get some sleep. Dude, this bus doesn’t even feel like it’s moving anymore.”
