JHING BLANCO woke up with her heart pounding hard in her chest. Habang tinutungo ang CR, para makaligo na at makapag-ayos, pinukpok niya ang dibdib. She couldn't calm down. Why? Kahit naka-ilang change outfit na nauwi rin sa simpleng shirt at jeans, ginagambala pa rin siya ng puso.

What's wrong? She asked her heart.

S'yempre, wala siyang sagot na nakuha.

Still, something was not right.

Dumating si Jhing sa Cool Beans Café fifteen minutes earlier than the expected time. Buong akala niya, walang pupunta. Hindi naman kasi siya ang author na tinitilian, sinasadya sa mga book signings o manunulat na may fan clubs. Not that she's a fan of fan clubs, lalo na at author siya – hindi artista, kaya nagtataka rin siya kung paano nangyaring may sobrang lawak na fanbase ang ilan.

Not that she was jealous, no.

Just wondering.

Nagtataka rin siya kung bakit nang ilibot ang mata sa loob ng coffee shop na nirentahan ng may pakana ng meet and greet na ito, ay maraming ngiti ang nakita niya.

It wasn't even the time; the meet and greet was supposed to happen!

Bakit ang daming tao?

More than. . .fifty? Sixty? Oh god, and there are still a lot more coming?

Paanong—bakit—ha—what?

Really?

Umayaw pa siya nang sabihing mag meet-and-greet na siya, but when a reader sponsored this mini event, at sinabing, "Please, Jhing? Aalis na kasi ako sa Pinas next week. To show my appreciation to your writings, ito lang ang naiisip ko. Heck, kung pwede ko lang i-publish lahat ng sinusulat mo, eh. Your stories are my go-to whenever I felt homesick. Ikaw ang reason why I kept on going through life. Pagbigyan mo na ako sa meet and greet. This will be the last."

Sino bang makaka-hindi sa request ganoon katinding request?

Her heart melted, of course.

There was no way she could say a firm no. She said yes. . . ish?

Silang dalawa lang dapat ni Ate Tin ang mag-mi-meet, saktong kwentuhan at tambay saka inom ng kape – but the word came out like a wildfire, and the next Jhing knew – nag-post na siya sa facebook niya ng: Meet and Greet. March 3, 2015. Cool Beans Café.

And then, this: ang daming tao.

Bumalik sa utak niyang. . . natatakot nga pala siya sa maraming tao.

Kinausap siya ni Ate Tin, together with her admins. Pinaupo siya sa dulong upuan, beside the window with a phrase, 'Let's make love, coffee and magic' that made Jhing smile.
