Me and Aria are in her room for a while, not talking because we are trying to see if we can hear what's going on downstairs while her parents are still talking to each other. She attempted to go down there before to talk but after whatever she said they sent her back up to her room. I don't think she's getting out of this mess. She even gets a call from Spencer and tells her what happened.

"You shouldn't have told them I didn't know." I finally say after a good 10 minutes of silence when she is off the phone.

She's standing by her open door while I'm sitting on my bed, so she turns her head slightly to look at me. "I'm not going to let you get into trouble when you've been the one covering for me all this time."

I take a breath, "I love you for that, but I don't think they are really going to believe that your best friend didn't know. Especially since I'm also close friends with Ezra."

She sighs softly, "We'll burn that bridge when we get there. For now just trust me, okay?"

I take a deep breath and give her a soft smile, "Always do."

She smiles back and now walks over to sit beside me, "Which leads me to this." She goes into her pocket and hands me a note.

I look at her in some confusion before opening it up. Notes instead of texting or talking feels very in school passing love letters coded. When I open up the paper it says that she and the others tricked A into believing they were fighting so that they could trap this person into thinking Emily was isolated and wanted to help. They plan to find out who this person is tonight where they are meeting.

My mouth drops slowly as I hand it back to her, "Are you serious?"

She gives me a sad smile, "Yes."

I realize the note is because A is always listening and watching, so I can't really give too much away. "Why are you telling me now?"

"I wanted to keep you safe, but now I need your help."

The A messages had stopped for all of us when they got caught. So she probably thought if I got involved in anything it would happen again. This is another reason why they thought it was convenient that Jenna and Garrett showed their relationship out in public after the police got involved. The messages stopped when they made things official.

I slowly nod, "Help how?"

"Help me get out of the house." she hands me another note, "Then we can take it from there."

I press my lips together and stare at the note, it says where they are meeting tonight. "So, like, distracting your parents?"

She smiles a bit, "That would be a start."

So that is what I'm gonna do as I get to my feet and walk to the door, but then Mike shows up and says he heard our conversation and he has a better way to get her out of the house, but makes sure she isn't going to see Ezra first.

"No. I just need to be somewhere."

He nods slowly, "I'm sorry I hit him. But when I saw dad's face I figured it was better I do it than him."

We both smile at him, "That was very heroic." I playfully joke with him.

He rolls his eyes and smiles, "Yeah, yeah." Then he walks towards his room and shows her a spot out his window where he uses a tree to sneak out all the time.

I go to stand behind her so I can follow her lead but she stops me because it's easier for me to get into less trouble if I'm not aware of her sneaking out. She doesn't want me to get grounded.
