Hello all. So sorry for the delay on updating. I've been busy and hope to get back into things. I appreciate you sticking this out with me.
______________
The following night (Saturday) Emily invited everyone for a party at Hanna's to celebrate the swim team winning the championship. Aria isn't going because she's meeting up with Holden in Philadelphia again, which I know my aunt and uncle are not happy about. They want them to stay closer to town instead of being over an hour drive. Now when it came to this meet up with that guy the night before I got almost no info on who it was, but they did say he asked for money that Alison owed him for work he did for her. Again, no elaboration on the details, but at this point I can't even argue.
Now by the time I head over to Hanna's I have Andrew by my side and walk into an already filled house with teenagers everywhere. He grabs onto the hand that is not occupied by a sling holding my arm up and we get deeper into the house to see Emily ushering herself around with cupcakes, but no Hanna in sight. That obviously seemed weird since it's her house but I figured she had stuff to do beforehand. Then we find Spencer and see that she is following Emily around in a deep conversation. I feel like this is the normal with them and I hate it because it almost always leads to an A situation. Spencer seems to make eye contact with me at that moment and I realize quickly it's because she's looking behind me. So as I turn around I see Hanna and her mom walking through the front door, they chat for a second longer and then her mom heads upstairs. Neither of them look happy and I don't like the feeling it gives me.
Andrew doesn't seem to notice the tension that happened from Hanna walking through and the girls staring our way because he hands me a soda with a smile on his face. I'm on medication from my messed up shoulder so I can't be drinking liquor, but all the same as I grab it from him with a smile back and just notice that Emily and Spencer walked out of view. I assume at this point it's because they went to check on Hanna and would be behind me now.
"I love a good sports party." Andrew tells me as he looks around the crowd of people and sips down his beer.
I search the kitchen with people surrounding us, even people going into the hallway and towards the living room. When I do this I see all three girls in mid conversation. "Athletes in one place is always a good time." I try to pay attention to him and not them as I stare back up at him now, "As long as they aren't all hammered."
He gives me a soft smile, "For you I will not get drunk."
I laugh slightly at him, "I will believe it when I see it, Mr. Campbell."
Now he laughs and shakes his head as he kisses my cheek, "Got jokes do ya."
"Only for you."
He smiles more and ushers me off to the table so we can sit. When we do it gives me time to look over back towards the door to see that Spencer walked out the front and now I'm confused on what's going on. I obviously find this odd but I can't get distracted while I'm with Andrew in a group setting. I promised myself to focus more on him when we're together and not on the problems the girls have with A. Especially now that his parents are all up on him staying away from me since the girls got arrested and I've been involved more with their chaos.
For a while I have my full attention on him. No distractions, no running around. Just us two having an actual conversation for the first time in a while. He tells me about basketball even though it sucks that I'm no longer able to be involved with my team, but I love to see his excited face when he tells the story. Then we talk about his parents and that he is trying to warm them back up to the idea that we aren't broken up while not exactly spilling the beans that he still sees me outside of school. Our talk is long and every once in a while he does get up to refill our drinks. I even see Hanna and Emily walking around a few times and giving me side looks like they want to tell me something. That last quick look at me is when my phone goes off and I see a text from an unknown number. I already know who it is.
