"Momma?" I heard a little voice call from behind me.

"Yes baby?" I asked turning to Dylan, my baby brother. Now before you get confused, my mother died giving birth to Dylan, and ever since then I became his mother. I tried to get him to say my name instead but he just stuck with mommy.

"Up?" He asked looking up at me through his long lashes. Dylan was 1 years old, and knew his way of getting what he wanted.

I smiled bending down and picking him up.

"I want ice cream, do you want ice cream Dylan?" I asked walking to my dads room. Dylan squealed happily nodding his head vigorously. I laughed continuing my way to my dads room, and slowly opening the door after knocking. After my mothers death, my dad went into a state of depression which is why I take care of Dylan. Dad doesn't really leave the house unless it's to go to work. Thankfully he doesn't drink, but he doesn't really pay much attention to Dylan, which is stressful on me because I'm 18 and have been taking care of a kid since I was 17.

"Dad we are getting ice cream. We should be back in an hour." I said with Dylan on my him. Dylan inherited my dads features. His dark blue eyes, brown hair, and sun kissed skin. I, on the other hand, have my mom looks. My hair was dark brown, curly and reached my elbows, while my eyes were hazel my long lashes framing them. I also had her short height, barely passing 5'4, and her curvy body.

"Okay Max. Just tell me when you get back." He said, his voice muffled from the pillow.

"Dad, it's been almost 2 years. You have to move on." I said walking over to his bed.

"I can't Max, she was my everything." He said turning to me, his voice pained.

"I know dad, I think you need a therapist. You can't stay sad forever. Dylan needs you to be his role model and here you are laying around." I said squatting in front of him.

"I don't know Max, I'll think about it." He said with a sigh.

"Thank you." I said kissing his cheek and taking a twenty off his night stand. "I'm taking a 20 for the ice cream." I said before walking out of his room, closing the door behind me. I grabbed my black uggs and slipped them on before going to Dylan's room. I grabbed his shoes, slipping them on him before standing back up.

"Let's go get some ice cream buddy." I said walking to the front door.

"Yay!" He exclaimed wrapping his arms around my neck and leaning his head in my shoulder. I grabbed the keys to my truck and walked out of the house, my phone and the money in my back pocket. I opened the door to the truck and quickly put Dylan in and buckled him up. It was chilly outside even though it's only October. I graduated high school last year and wasn't able to get into college because I had to take care of Dylan. But, I worked at a library and it pays really well.

"Ready baby?" I asked sitting in the drivers seat and pulling onto the main road and heading to a close ice cream place.

"Vwoom vwoom!" He said with a big smile on his face. I chuckled at him before putting the radio on and humming along. I revved the engine and glance at him before going. I let out a sigh and turned into the ice cream shop.

"Come on buddy, let's get you some ice cream." I said taking him out of the car and walking into the double doors. The ice cream place was empty, maybe one older couple in the corner.

"Ice cweam." Dylan said squirming in my arms.

"Okay." I said walking up to the guy behind the counter. He looked about my age, maybe around early 20's. He had black hair with dark blue eyes, that were framed with his black long lashes, making his eyes pop out even more. His skin, seemed as if it was kissed by the sun. He had sharp features, a strong jawline and I swear his face was made by the gods. Under the black long sleeve that read "Cold stones" across the left breast, you could see how well built he was as the shirt gripped his muscles. I had to look up at him, as his figured towered my 5'4 one.
