(Luke's PoV)

I couldn't think straight, I had to get out of there. My worst fear that something was going on between Lexi and Calum had been confirmed. How could she just kiss him like that? Did she even love him or was this just a part of the game we were playing? Did Cal know she might not even like him back? Was he really in love with her? All of those questions I guess got the best of me, seeing as I'd woken up a few minutes later slumped against a tree near my house, and shaken awake by the person I least expected. Lexi.

At first I was confused as to why she had followed me and especially why she was now hugging me. But as she pulled away I pushed these questions aside, her tear stained face and concerned eyes said it all. I must have looked dead, passed out on the side of the road after leaving without a word. Guilt flowed through my body, I had put her through this, my stupid attitude. If I acted like this over one little kiss, how could I be good enough for her, how could I put her through this much pain?

"Luke," she breathed out with a relieved smile plastered on her face "I thought you were, I just saw you there, and I fell but I managed, and then you woke up", as she talked her teary eyes constantly searched mine. She pulled me in for another hearty hug letting out a deep sigh of relief.

"Wait, you fell?" I asked "are you", "I'm fine Luke," she cuts me off "it's you we should be worrying about, did you hurt anything? Are you ok? I called Cal to come and pick us up."

I was about to briskly answer all of her questions, more concerned about her wellbeing than my own, until I heard Calum's name. I sighed trying to stand up, Lexi offered to help but I just pushed her off. Everything felt fine, well physically, mentally was another story. The relationship they had together just ate away at my brain, they weren't right for each other, just like me and Summer. I'd had enough of this our called "relationship" and I'd seen the way she'd acted towards Ashton. No matter what game I was playing, I had to end whatever was even going on between us, and I was doing it tonight.

After Cal picked us both up, and after persuading Lexi that I was fine, they reluctantly agreed to drop me off back home. Before I could change my mind, I called Summer to come round.

As I answered the door, she pushed straight passed me and went upstairs to my room, sitting herself down and patting a seat for me next to her. Hesitantly I walked over and decided on no lingering but just telling her I wanted to end things.

"Look Summer, things aren't working out between us and I just want to end this before it becomes too serious, neither of us are happy, I mean it's obvious you're not happy seeing as you constantly flirt with Ash..." Realising I might have been to harsh I turn to apologise but can't say anything before she covers my mouth with her finger.

"No Luke, you see we aren't breaking up,"

"Didn't you hear what I just said" I manage to mumble out, her finger still covering my mouth.

"Oh I heard perfectly well Luke," she smirked, "but we aren't breaking up, you see wouldn't it be horrible for your band, at the start of their carrier already doing so well, to have some horrible rumours spread about them, pushing fame out of the window."

"No that's not fair, this is about us, not the band" pushing her hand away from my mouth and standing up frustrated.

"oh come on Luke, it's never been about you and me, I mean really did you think you had a shot with someone like me, no, it's all about the popularity and buzz forming around your band, that's all it's ever been about." Laughing she stands up and kisses me on the cheek leaving.

I'm not one to usually cry, but I felt like there was no way out, I was trapped, I couldn't risk the future of the band. Everything was too much, hurriedly I dialled the only person I felt completely comfortable talking too. Sadly, that person was also the one I had been deliberately distancing myself from for the past weeks. Hopefully she still cared for me the same way I cared for her and was able to push aside this feud we'd been having.

"Hello," I snuffled trying to keep back the tears of panic and helplessness, "Yeah, hey Lexi it's, it's Luke"...
