Your words kept echoing in his mind. You walked away as if nothing had happened, leaving him again with unanswered questions and heart torn apart. Who would have thought he'd become so fragile because of a single woman.
A woman who disappeared without a word.
He didn't even know where all this hatred inside him was coming from. To drown the heavy feeling, he let alcohol take over, drinking until he was mumbling your name repeatedly.
The pain in his eyes was to obvious and Ran could see it.
"C'mon, let's go home..." Ran muttered, watching his younger brother silently weeping while clutching an old picture of you.
"Was I a terrible partner back then?" Rindou whispered.
Ran had heard the same words countless times. It was even worse the moment you left. Rindou drowned himself in liquor, reckless to the point of almost getting himself killed with his rash choices.
He searched everywhere for you-asked your friends, knocked on doors-yet no one had any idea where you had gone.
The only one who knew was Sanzu, but since he was your cousin, he didn't say a thing. He enjoyed watching Rindou suffer instead.
"Stop this madness, Rindou," Ran hissed, snatching the glass of liqour from him. "The two of you don't belong in the same world anymore.
Rindou rose to his feet, clutching your high school photo tigthly.
"She wants answers. I'll tell her everything... Even about Bonten." He tried to stand, but the dizziness knocked him down.
Ran furrowed his brows, stressed out. Ran let it slide when Rindou hides you from Mikey, if he goes much worse, Ran can't picture what will happen to his brother. He ordered the club to close immediately despite the crowd still inside.
"Rindou must not leave this place," he instructed the staff and the bouncers.
"Ran, she doesn't love me anymore...while here I am."
Back then, Ran slowly hated you. You were the reason for Rindou's suffering, the reason his world collapsed. You walked away without a word, leaving him shattered. He hated you for being selfish, but he also hated himself for getting mad at you.
Not until he found out that even your closest friends didn't know where you'd gone, he understood immediately that you had reasons for leaving.
"Even if she still loves you, you can't be with her," Ran said quietly as he sat across from his brother.
"You'll only drag her into danger, Rindou."
That made Rindou freeze. It's like, you're in heaven while he's in the nether.
