Suha drove fast but neither of you cared. The sound of the engine roaring through the night was drowned out by the thundering of your heart. You couldn't stop shaking, your hands were still stained with Tsukiyo's blood, and every time you blinked, you saw his face, pale and still, lying in that hospital bed.
Rindou held your hand firmly, his jaw clenched as his eyes were focused out the window. Is it really true? He had a son all this time? But why? Why didn't you tell him about it? He wanted to ask you but in your state, it's best not to ask.
The hospital lights came to view like salvation piercing the dark. The car screeched to a stop and Rindou was already out before the engine cut. He didn't wait for Suha or you to catch up. His heavy foot step reach the building.
"Where's the boy with type A blood needed for transfusion?!" He shouted. The nurse at the counter flimched but quickly recognized the urgency.
"Room 204! Emergency—follow me!"
He ran down the hall with you trailing behind, nearly collapsing from exhaustion. When you reach the room, the doctors were preparing the equipment. Rindou rolled up his sleeve as the nurse attached the line. You stood beside your son, clutching his tiny hand whispering.
"You're going to be okay...your Daddy is here now baby."
There had been a small blood transfusion earlier—just enough to keep him stable for now, but not enough to save him. Rindou stared down at his son, his eyes wet with a pain he didn’t understand. He never knew his own father. He never felt a father’s love. Yet now, looking at Tsukiyo, at the boy who looked exactly like him... he felt something breaking inside him.
"You raised him alone?" he whispered, voice rough.
You looked at him with tired eyes. You had never seen him like this. "Yeah..."
Silence hung between you until the others rushed in. Your mother froze when she saw Rindou. You quickly stood and walked to her knowing he hates him.
"Mom, I—"
She sighed and placed a hand on your shoulder.
"You’re old enough now. Your choices aren’t mine anymore."
The founding members had arrived too. None of them said a word about Rindou; they didn’t even know that he's part of the most wanted criminal organization in Japan. Only Chifuyu and Takemitchi stared at him quietly.
"Y/n, I brought clothes for you," Emma said, handing them over. You gave her a weak smile.
