Why Me?

CORI'S POV

It's Rhett and Link. My heart is racing a million miles already from meeting Alexis. I may faint no lie. They get to sit at their temporary 'round table of dim lighting'.

"You're so gorgeous!" Some person shouts and a group laughs. "Was that a question?" Link says and everyone laughs. I'd admit. That girl is correct for saying those three words. What can I say, they are gorgeous men. Especially Link. His wigs to his eyes to his smile. Ugh I just can't even with this man.

"Hello VidCon!" Rhett says in the microphone and everyone screams. I don't scream because it's nasty as crap. It sounds like a fork down the garbage disposal. Yeah, it sounds like that. "Okay we'll start the podcast right about now." Link says as the screams simmer down. It was just silence for a while. "Welcome to Ear Biscuits, I'm Link." "And I'm Rhett. Today we aren't at the round table of dim lighting but here we have some mythical beasts!" Rhett waves his hands up and down and the audience shouts endlessly. It then calms down and we continue the podcast.

The podcast ends and we get our stuff ready. "Hold on everyone before you leave we need to tell you something." Rhett says as the majority of the audience gives their attention to him. Rhett looks at Link. I guess he wanted him to say what it's about. "Guys we've been holding in this secret for a while and when we mean a while, we mean a week. We are holding a surprise for someone special in the audience right now!" Link says. Everyone says their ooo's and awe's.

"How?" I shout. I see both of them look at me. I get nervous all of a sudden. "Well, firstly, we plan on doing this. We will be narrowing down our winner by this."

"Okay. Everyone here raise your hand." Rhett says as everyone does. I do obviously. "Narrowing down now. Umm, who's birthday is in between January and June?" Link asks. I look around and maybe fifteen people put their hands down.

"Okay..." Link trailed off. He looks at Rhett for what to do next. I can tell from his face. Rhett thinks. "Anyone's birthday this month?" Rhett asked.

I look around again seeing more then half of beasts put their hand down. Alexis puts her hand down. Hers is May the 29th. I mouthed to her 'so close' as I keep my hand up still. This could be my lucky day.

"In between the 15th and the 30th?" Link added. My heart is racing at this point. It felt like a million miles. Looking around seeing more than half are down. There was probably ten people left.

"This week?" Link said. I look and me and this one dude in the back are left. My heart rate has raised exclusively. "Is..." Rhett trailed off. "Just say it!" Someone yells. "Hey calm down there." Rhett said shocked from the person.

"Is, tomorrow your birthday?" Rhett finally says. The dude puts his hand down and I feel like I finished a 100 mile marathon. Everyone claps and I hear a girl say something like she wishes she was me. I put my hand down. I'm just shocked. I'm not meant for this. I'm turning 19 tomorrow and this is my present? Well thanks mom and dad! My head feels stuffed. I'm getting a migraine. It hurts so bad.

Then, everything went black for a second. I think I fainted. I could feel two or more people help me up. I rub my eyes, waking myself up. "Congrats girl." I look up seeing Becca. "What's your name?" I'm dazed out of my mind.

"C-Cori." I stutter. "Well Cori. But first, drum roll please." Link says when people do the drum roll. I'm still trying to figure out what happened! Was this rigged?! This isn't real I hope this is a dream. Actually I hope it isn't then meeting Alexis isn't real.

"You get to go on Good Mythical Morning!" Rhett says as there's gasps roll through the crowd. "Are you joking?" I ask seriously. "Nope!" Link says. "Okay." I say trying to take it in that I'm going to be on my heroes show. "Okay everyone you may now leave and meet anyone else!" Jen says. I hear two people sprint to the exit and everyone else walks patiently to the doors.

"Hey Cori." I hear Link say my name and I immediately turn around. "Can you stay real quick? It's about what you won." I smile, showing some teeth. "Yeah sure. I have time."
