VidCon was awesome.
Seriously I got to hang out with Alexis and had Lindsay follow us with her camera. It was the best week ever! I got to meet so many other YouTubers like Shay Carl and the rest of his family, Connor Franta, and Tyler Oakley! Now it will be even better since I'm getting ready to head up to Mythical Entertainment. This is literally my dream. Well, I bet it's everyone's dream to go to Rhett and Link's studio to film an episode of Good Mythical Morning. They didn't tell me what the episode what going to be. I'm very excited, just to be blind when I enter.
I put on one of my flannels I brought from Utah. It has a very lumberjack vibe to it and I love it. I checked the weather today that'll be one of those cool summer days thankfully, and apparently those 'cool summer days' are in the high 70's. But then I just decided to wear a white tee and tie the flannel around my waist because I didn't want to sweat bullets in front of them! I also pair the outfit with light wash shorts.
I looked at the mirror, looking at those bags under my eyes from all of the 4 hour sleep I've had since VidCon. I decided to put just concealer on my face with some power to set it in place so it won't physical melt off my face. "My face looks boring... hmm."
I grabbed my eyeliner and I did my wing, which people from school thinks it's too thick but it actually isn't. When they say that I just say in my head that what you put on your eyes are just twigs laying on your eyelids! Then I put on mascara and a tinted lip balm on and that's all I did.
I grab my new doc martens and try to put them on. They are really hard to put them on and take them off. They finally slip on from after a good five minutes of trying to put them on. I just recently got them and I just thought why not break them in.
I take a breather to realize that in 10 minutes I'll be recording something for Rhett and Link. "I don't know if I should be honored or what." I say in my head.
"Where's their card?" I ask myself, trying to remember the last time I put it. "Ok, if I were a Rhett and Link card, where would I be?" I looked into my bag that I used for VidCon and scavenged through everything. No luck.
"Ugh come on Cori, where is it?!" I decided to look in my wallet, just out of curiosity. I exhaled out of relief. "There it is." I take it out of the sleeve and I look at the address. "622 S Victory Boulevard." I say under my breath. I get up to now find my phone, right on my dresser.
I open up to maps and enter in the address. The directions appeared and I noticed that their studio is about two miles away. I'm that close to there studio, jeez! I think to myself if I wanted to walk there or take an uber. "Well, if I choose to walk, I'll be getting my exercise of the year." I chuckle at my comment. "Hmm."
I grab my small backpack and put my vlog camera, my earbuds and my cord with my portable charger. Just in case if my phone gets low. My battery goes down very quick and I don't like it! I look into the mirror one last time. I play with my hair, in nervousness. I feel my pockets and took out take out their card one more last time.
"Today, will be a great day..." I whisper to myself. I look back at myself in the mirror, taking in deep breaths. I grab my vlog camera to start off this adventure.
I start recording, "Hey guys! Today is the best day of my life. Now you are probably like, 'What? What's going on?' " I say with a mocking voice. "Well, on my birthday which was June 24. I am now 19! Yeah so what's going on right now, right this second- I am going to Rhett and Link's studio! And I know, you guys are like how in hell did this happen?! Well let's just say that it was a very exclusive 'giveaway' during a panel with Rhett and Link, I guess and how to win was who's birthday was the closest to their choice of day. And actually they were exact- on the dot, correct for my birthday..."
I take a quick breather from talking a lot. "And now, I'm going. It's now what." I check my phone for what time it is. "10:48 am and Link said I should be there around 11. I have their address, which I'm not going to give out- and apparently it's about 2 miles away south from where I am now, so I'm going to walk there and do my exercise of the year." I chuckle at my comment once again. "And now, let's roll out!.. Do people even say that anymore? Let's roll out? I don't know, let's go." I stop recording.
I'm going down the stairs and already I'm bombarded with everyone in the house at the end of the steps. "I hope you have a great time sweetie." My mom says, spreading out her arms for what seems to be a hug. "Thanks mom." I head to my dad for also a hug. "Cori, be safe." My dad says as always. "I will dad. Don't worry."
"So their studio is two miles south so I was wondering if I could walk there." I ask, just to be sure. "Yeah Cori, you can. Thankfully we live in the good part of Los Angeles." My grandma steps on into the conversation.
"Ok. I'll text you when we are done filming!" I say heading up to the front door. "Good luck!" They, as in my parents and grandparents, say as I close the door.
To their studio I go. A life changing moment.
