Belle Darcy

Belle could feel Sebastian's grin as he kissed her sweetly, her back flushed on the gazebo's floor that they'd covered with a picnic blanket, and he on top with arms on either side of her. Birds were singing the song of the summer all around them, and remnants of the vanilla cookies they had munched on were scattered on the left. Over to the left, abandoned books they exchanged to read each other's touch instead.

She ran her hands through his hair to deepen the kiss a little more, Sebastian gladly obliging, which made her giggle quietly. Over the last few days, since their first kiss on her bed, they've learned to memorize what the other liked. Though he always seemed to have more practice kissing, she wondered if she truly was his first kiss. Though he had given her no reason to doubt him thus far.

So she kept kissing him, snatching as much of the summer in the form of him as she could. He smelled of sandalwood, parchment and ocean breeze. She wondered if she might forget when they part.

Dread suddenly made itself known in her heart. This was too good to last, and nothing good ever lasted in her life. She hoped this would be the exception but life was cruel to her. She also carried some rather terrible news for him today, but opening it felt like opening a wound she didn't want to see.
