3 | The Very First Night
Belle's Perspective
I scrambled out of the Ravenclaw Common Room with my hair undone and robes a mess out of panic that I was going to be late for my first day of Advanced Potions. Professor Sharp didn't take too kindly to lousy students and I was anything but that.
I'd stupidly slept in too much for a Tuesday, partly blaming Ethan for his irresistible charms last night. I had to sneak back into my dorm way past curfew last night, all alone by myself. Samantha and Lila had almost caught me but thank Merlin they were heavy sleepers.
Quickly taking the Floo Flame closest to Potions class, I clutched my books tightly to my chest, while holding my wand in the other with my bag slung over my shoulder. I stumbled forward a little as my feet landed on the ground, frazzled and a bit out of breath from running around getting ready on time.
Once I'd opened the doors leading to Potions, I was yanked by my right arm to the side, just shy of the opened door to the classroom. My annoyed frown quickly lifted into a smile when I saw Ethan smirking down at me.
"Don't you have class right now?" A small, breathy laugh escaped me.
"Not yet, but thought I'd catch you for a bit before you go off to class again," he flirted, leaning forward.
I pushed him back playfully with my shoulder, giggling. "Stop it. I'll be late for class, and it's quite literally right there." I nodded at the door to Potions.
"Fine, fine," he drawled, voice husky. He clutched my chin and gave me a hard kiss before pulling away with a smirk. "Find me later. Go be studious."
"Oh, I will. Bye, Ethan," I said in a sing-song voice, going up on my toes to give him a quick kiss.
Ethan chuckled before ducking his head and leaving me alone. I entered Potions class with a minute to spare, the clock ticking to the ninth hour of the morning. It was only then I realized I was so hungry having missed breakfast this morning, a headache creeping up on me. But I shook it off as I looked around the room, quickly scanning for an empty seat.
Garreth found me first and waved with a grin on his face. I was about to come over only to realize his table was full, so he mouthed an apology to me. I shrugged, telling him it was alright.
My eyes quickly darted around the room again only to be interrupted when I felt a presence come up behind me. I stepped aside a bit when I realized whose aggravating presence it was that I was suddenly feeling.
Sebastian Sallow had materialized in my peripheral vision, his dark hair as messy as ever, an undone Slytherin tie, and his hazel-brown eyes that were cold as hell like always.
Great. How fantastic. Wonderful!
Ugh.
I tried to ignore him, but his heavy sighing was making it hard. Because at that point, I was sure we found the same table, our eyes falling at the one brightly lit from daylight streaming through the frosted-glass window. The only one we were left with, seeing as how we were the last students to arrive.
