Chapter 22 - You're a Hippopotamus

Ethan Carson's POV (Autumn's Dad)

"We've sent search parties all around the neighborhood & the city Lieutenant. The people living in front of the scene took the van's number. We will tell you once we locate it. We are trying our best and will call you once we find anything," the officer states and heads to his car. Lily is crying in my arms.

"I'm a terrible mum. I told you Ethan that in high school. It's all my fault," she falls into hysterics.

I lift her face to look at me, "it's not your fault Lil. Remember what I told you back then when I saw you helping that girl ?"

**Flashback**

(1986)

I'm strolling in the hallway towards the bathroom when I suddenly hear a girl crying. I look around the corner and find a girl crying on the floor. Lily walks out of a classroom then pauses. She walks towards the girl and squats to her level.

"What's wrong? " she asks softly. The girl looks up then engulfs Lily in a hug.

"I'm so scared Lily... Someone threatened to." I block out the conversation because it's not my place to know. I walk pass them and pretend as if I didn't see them. The girl coughs and looks at Lily as she turns cherry red.

I ignore them and go to the bathroom to do my duty. When I'm done I walk back and find them both laughing.

"Thank you Lily... I don't know where I'd be without you," she says as she hugs Lily. She spots me and winks.

"I better get going, I'll see you later," the girl says and scurries off.

"Hey Lil," I say and she turns around to look at me.

"Hey....How are you ?" She gives me a hug and a small kiss.

"I'm great...you just made me realize you're going to be an amazing mum one day," she looks down and mumbles 'I don't think so'

I lift her face up and look at her ocean deep blue eyes. "The way you dealt with that girl's problem. I see us in the future with our daughter when she has any school problems..." She cuts me off by saying, "our....us, you think we have a future together ?"

I wipe her happy tears, "I never doubted it. I love you Lily and you'll make an amazing mother one day."

"I love you too Ethan. I can't wait if you're with me. We'll have the best children ever."

**End of Flashback**

Autumn's POV

"Do you have anything less slutty to wear ?" I turn to Cameron after Cody left the room. He nods and stands up to get me clothes. I sit on a chair and ignore Kyle.

He groans, "Why are you ignoring me?" I stare at him in shock.

"Are you crazy ? You just kidnapped me, took me to New York, threatened to kill Juliette, and you're asking why I'm ignoring you ? You're pathetic, how could you ?" I snarl at him. He sighs and squats to my level.

"Autumn I...." he starts but Cameron walks into the room holding my old clothes. I stand and walk past him. I snatch my clothes and head towards the room. I lock the door, change, and sit on the bed. What was he going to say ?

Cody's POV

"Kyle give me Nathan's number," I say and he hands me it. Luckily, Nathan doesn't have my number.
