Chapter 37 - I Was Too Late
I park my car in front of the house. Taking a deep breath, I step out of my car and gaze at the hunter's residence.
There's a sign on the mail box that states to head to the garden. Slowly walking, I count the seconds ticking by as I shuffle my feet towards the garden.
Blake is standing in the middle of the garden surrounded by fairy lights and a red rose. He must've gotten inspired by the Bachelor. He's holding a bunch of posters in his hand and I slowly begin to read them.
Dear Vanilla,
I'm so sorry for all the things I did to you and I hope it isn't too late to say sorry :)I haven't been the best guy around; bet, materialistic....etc
I know that we won't go back to normal instantly, but I hope you can give me a second chance..
I don't bother reading the rest and run towards him to engulf him in a hug. He laughs then kisses my forehead as I continue squeezing the life out him.
Music suddenly starts playing in the background and he grabs my hand, and he begins twirling me around.
Even though I'm in sweats and it's midnight and might fall asleep any second, it's moments like these that are perfect. Who says we need to wear fancy dresses and high heels to dance and have the time of our lives?
Suddenly the music stops and clapping erupts out of nowhere. I turn around and find all my friends standing there with smiles proud of what they accomplished; Blake and I becoming... Close friends again. Ya, friends...
I lean on his chest and sigh. What are you doing to me Hunter?

Graduation Day//3:00 am//
I arise from my bed unable to sleep and look around in my pitch black room. Standing up, I walk over to the window and open the curtains to be greeted by a full room that illuminates the sky accompanied by the stars.
I grab my phone and coincidentally a message arrives from Blake.
Hey Vanilla, I know ur sleeping rn & will read this in the morning soo good morning & just wanted to tell you gd luck 4 today & see ya soon. 😊
I press on the empty bar and the keyboard pops up waiting for me to type away.
Hey Blake, gd luck 2 u 2 😊
Not a few moments later the message is seen and typing... appears. I get dressed in my running clothes and grab my headphones and set off.
I plug my headphones in and I'm blocked out of the world. I set off pushing myself to the limit. Every breath, every sweat, every inhale, every exhale urges me to push myself. Every house I pass my adrenaline increases pumping through my blood making me feel like I can conquer the world. Alas, this euphoric feeling has to come to an end. I bend down and wipe my forehead with the back of my palm.
Two feet appear in front of me and I slowly look up to see who they belong to. I find Blake standing there grinning like an idiot.
"Hey Vanilla, today is the big day," he states.
"Today is the big day," I repeat. He hands me an envelope and as I proceed me to open it he stops me.
