"I love you," Mehk said suddenly.

Smiling, Itna replied, "I love you too."

"You know you're amazing, right?" He stated, poking her nose.

Wiggling her nose a bit, she crossed her arms, "Nu-uh, liar!" she said, sounding kittenish, before breaking into a small giggle.

"No, I'm telling the truth!" Mehk replied, pinning her. Itna stuck her tongue out at him, only to return it quickly as Mehk tried to lick it. Smirking, he looked down at her, feeling victorious. Itna stared defiantly before grabbing the collar of his shirt and pulling him into a kiss. Mehk went almost limp at the touch of her lips to his. Eventually breaking the kiss, she stared up at him, purring.

Suddenly, a woman's voice sounded from the garden, "Oh my, it appears I've stumbled upon something intimate. My apologies," they turned to see a white female wolf. Her fur spotted with light gray dots.

Itna jumped up, "No, no. I apologize, we didn't know anyone was even in the area."

"Yeah," Mehk added. "Why are you in the area anyway? There's nothing but desert and an old abandoned village in these parts."

The woman simply smiled, "If that were true, I wouldn't have found the two of you." The woman faultered slightly, her legs shaking.

"Um, ma'am? Are you alright?" Itna asked, approaching slowly. as she reached the woman, her legs gave out. Catching the woman's now unconscious form, Itna looked to Mehk, "Get my backpack!" Without missing a beat, Mehk ran to the tent, grabbing her bag and bringing it to her.

"What's wrong? Will she be alright?" Mehk asked, worried. Itna opened her bag, pulling out a cup and handing it to Mehk without speaking. Taking the cup to the water, he filled it, bring it back.

As Itna took the cup, she poured some onto a small towel, dampening the fur around the woman's face, "It's a desert in the middle of nowhere. She has been travelling for awhile and by the looks of it, she hasn't had food or water in a couple days at least." Itna looks up at Mehk for a moment, "Like when I found you." Moving the woman's head into her lap, she awoke her as best she could, "Hey, you have to get some water in you. Drink, please." The woman's eyes flittered slightly as Itna put the cup to her muzzle. The woman drank some before slipping back out of consciousness.

Mehk watched from a distance, unsure what to do as he saw Itna, her eyes seeming more aged and serious than he'd normally seen. The kittenish gleam seemingly gone, replaced by a strange intelligence as she cared for the woman, checking for injuries. "Mehk." She spoke, snapping him back to reality, "Help me get her to the tent. She's alright, but she needs to rest and she needs to keep cool." He nodded, picking up the woman and setting her inside the tent carefully. Itna then crawled in, sitting by the woman. "It won't be easy for her to keep cool with this thick fur and warm clothing. I'm gonna need you to get water when I tell you to and not to look into the tent, okay?"

Mehk stared curiously for a moment, then nodded, "Okay."

"If you must know, I have to strip her. She could have a heat stroke in this weather dressed like that." Itna spoke, "She appears to be some kind of arctic wolf and that is very bad for a desert like ours."
