Mehk and Itna

Water Talk

        Itna stared into the water, smiling, “I’m not that special."

        “So, what about you?" Mehk asked, changing the topic.

        Itna tilted her head to the side, “What do you want to hear about?"

        He smiled, “Tell me anything."

        She looked at him, thinking, “Well, I remember a bit about my life in my old village."

        “Oh, you mean, the place we found..." he trailed off.

        Itna laid her head on his shoulder, “It’s okay, really, it wasn’t all bad. In fact, I was practically the whole talk of the town. I was requested to be the town healer right before the attack."

        “Did you do the job?" Mehk laughed as Itna’s jaw dropped, “Only joking, Love."

        She pulled him into a kiss, “You better be joking." He smiled, kissing her back. A moment later, Itna’s thoughts turned serious, “I’m glad I didn’t remember what happened when I first woke up in the desert..." Mehk stayed silent, “I was so young when it happened... I don’t think I would’ve had the will to survive if I knew..." Trailing off, Itna looked into the water, staring at her reflection.

        They sat in silence for a while until Mehk spoke up, “Um, on a happier topic, uhh..." He stopped to think, “Turtles."

        Itna smiled, “I’ve read about those, they seem so cool. I think it’s interesting how sea turtles leave their young to be born on the shore and walk to the waters alone when they are born."

        “Uhh, I had to kill the ones I saw, it was either kill or be killed. Those things were vicious." Seeing Itna give him a curious look, he laughed, “Don’t ask."

        Itna nodded, then drifted into other thoughts, “I need an actual bathing suit. I mean, my tubetop is fine for a top, but I'm pretty sure my underwear isn't a very good idea now that I have company..."

        Mehk smirked deviously, “What’s the problem with it? It’s probably fine."

        “It’s embarrassing!" Itna defended.

        “Only one way to find out," Mehk said, pinning her down and pulling down her pants to the knee before letting go of her.

        Itna pulled them back up, her face bright red, “Don’t do that!"

        Mehk moved close to her, kissing her gently, “Worth it."
